A History of Ardas is a prequel chapter released game that I am designing that will show events that happened long before the events of my other game: Collusion of Ardas.
For as long as anyone can remember, the planet of Ardas has always been ruled by two nations: Asilfre and Isilfar. Asilfre is a proud nation, priding itself in its various magical breakthroughs. The ability to raise the dead, cause ice to sweep out in waves, read people's minds, weaken people's muscles, cause meteor swarms, natural magic...it all came from Asilfre and mostly thanks to its king, King Lucav. Isilfar is also a proud nation, priding itself in raw strength. Isilfareans are taught to dislike magic, that it is an unnatural sin that all Isilfareans should not suffer from. Instead the finest weapons and armor are made in Isilfar. Together, both nations create the strongest military force on the planet, severly outdoing the other (smaller) nations in raw strength.
One day, long ago, people started to notice that something afoul was destroying the planet. The sea did not seem as alive, the grass seemed to slowly decay, the animals seemed to be less happy, the trees started to rot like it was Autumn during a mid Summers day!
The best Asilfreans and Isilfareans could not find the source of this corruption. Eventually, through advanced magic that nearly killed him, Lucav discovered the location of the corruption: inside the planet itself. After gathering their best men, both nations sent people to the core of the planet, to cure the corruption.
They failed.
The esteemed Guardians of Ardas, a group made up of the best people from both nations, agreed to go to the core. Even the two kings, King Lucav and King Daedalus of Isilfar, agreed to go, putting their lives and their kingdoms into jeopardy.
Once there, the group of around 50 found the problem almost instantly! Foul demons of some unnatural source were inside the planet, tearing away at the ground. Avoiding the lava that was in plentiful supply, the Guardians attacked the demons and eventually found themselves staring a massive one down, which was using foul magic the likes they've never seen to destroy the life force of the planet.
The fight lasted hours, and the demon fell. Successful, the Guardians turned around and started to walk back to where they entered, to form a new portal with Lucav's help.
A sound familiar to them all ring in their ears.
As they turned around, the rest of the Guardians saw two swords locked in an epic battle, belonging to the hands of Lucav and Daedalus. No one can exactly say who attacked who first, as the Asilfreans will always say Daedalus attacked first, and the Isilfareans will always say Lucav attacked first.
They rushed towards them to stop them from fighting, and as the Guardians got closer, the sword fight has ended. Both swords lay inside each others armor, piercing their hearts. As they slowly fell to their knees, the Guardians panicked.
They had no way out of there.
The Guardians of Ardas were never heard from again, however one of them did manage to escape. Whether they still live or not, is anyones guess. How he managed to do so, is also anyone's guess. He kept his identity a secret, and unfortunately, went into hiding, it seems.
After what was declared an attack on their nation by Asilfre and Isilfar, by the opposite nation, and the loss of their kings, both nations drew themselves into a war. Smaller nations did whatever they could to survive, whether it was bartering with one side and then turning to another, or avoiding the conflict entirely.
Towns get bombarded by soldiers, as dead bodies adorn these smaller areas. Countrysides once overrun by bandits, are now overrun with a river of blood and bones. Places that were once safe for children to have fun, are now ruined. Children that once saw cute toys and such, now see swords, men and women dying, and evil magic.
One man is fed up with the injustice of the foul Isilfareans, and thanks to the motivation of his friends and his skilled sword play skills, decides to inquire to the king about a possible position in the Asilfrean army. Making his way to the castle is a trip he takes willingly, abandoning his family in the name of justice.
Or so he thinks...

*Huge focus on storytelling! Not really a feature per se, but there's a lot of storyline segments. This is the prequel to a game I am working on, that is based on a huge (couple hundred pg) story I wrote in real life when I was younger. The idea is to give people a good idea about how the other game may be like, get feedback on the way I'm telling the story, etc. While still being a good game.
*I've made sure to make the Monster Artificial Intelligence not suck. Monsters will be in parties which compliment each other and adapt. There will be many parties of monsters, some even with a Fighter/Mage/Cleric/Thief setup, and the Fighter will do his best to protect the weakened members, but then change completely if theres no one that needs to be protected at the moment.
*Boss fights are going to be sparse, but innovative endeavors. I'm a big fan of crazy boss fights, so expect these to not just be SPAM ATTACK/BEST MOVE affairs.
*A Title System. Earn achievements and rewards for doing various things! Open a lot of treasure chests, and you might get a bonus to your stats, a unique item, or more!
*Rarity System: Items have their names colored to reflect their power and monetary value.
*Random loot drops, so you never know what you're gonna get.

Saerun:
Birth: Asilfrean
Age: 21 yo
Sex: Male
Class: Myrmidon
Saerun is tired of the injustices done by the Isilfarean nation, and abandons his family and home town in an attempt to rid the world of such evils. He makes his way towards his king, wishing to join the Asilfrean army. As a child of 10 seasons of age, Saerun was taught to use swords by the blacksmiths in his town, and would test himself with the various Asilfrean soldiers that would pass by.
Aeradon:
Birth: Asilfrean
Age: 30
Sex: Male
Class: Justicar
Aeradon was once someone of great power in the Asilfrean army, who after something bad, left the army. Deciding for a change of location, he takes up a place at Saerun's home town, for relaxation. Unfortunately, his relaxation doesn't last too long, as in an attempt to stop someone from making the same mistake he did, he follows Saerun to stop him from joining the army with the power of words. He has a past that seems to haunt him, when he sleeps.
Vaelia:
Birth: Asilfrean
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Class: Druid
A member of Asilfre's esteemed druidic order, she is a firm believer in protecting nature. Unfortunately, she has been on duty (a druid charged with doing some task to protect nature) ever since she was 16, and thus she is prevented from having romantic and sexual relations with any persons. Lust is a problem, and something she seems to fight daily, in the name of her order. She seems to give up a lot of things for her order, and doesn't seem to care and is very strong in keeping the order's rules followed, so she is not easily coaxed away from her beliefs.
Taerul:
Birth: Asilfrean
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Class: Rogue
Taerul is a very shadowy figure who Saerun seems to meet by pure chance. Seems to have knowledge of basic arcane magic. Not much known about him, other then that he acts pretty cool, piratey almost, and sneaky. Seems to be hiding a lot of things.
Caelis:
Birth: Asilfrean
Age: 25
Sex: Female
Class: Necronist
Caelis is a woman feared by most people who know her. Many talk to her out of this fear, afraid of what she might do if they shun her. At the ripe young age of 10 she managed to revive her pet dog from the dead, making herself the youngest wizard to do such a thing. At 13 she managed to probe someone's mind for delicate information, and had a wanted criminal put into jail. She has driven herself away from the general arcane, and now delves purely into necromantic and psionic fields making her the first Necronist. Just like her fields, she is highly detective, probing almost. She is also cold, and unfeeling.
Faeldorn:
Birth: Asilfrean
Age: 50
Sex: Male
Class: Paragon
General of the Asilfrean army, he accompanies Saerun later on down the road. His ability to command is second to none and is what gets him to stay in the party, even though his racism and harsh nature upsets the party at times. As a higher ranking officer, he rarely talks about himself, unless needed. He does whatever must be done to accomplish the job.
Jhorndis:
Birth: Isilfarean
Age: 22
Sex: Male
Class: Spellbreaker
One of Isilfareans new trained Spellbreakers, a knight who wields axes and is trained to destroy anything that is magical. He lives off of the destruction of this force, and if he had his way he would drain the life of any person who wields this force willingly and kill them. Heartless, mentally blind, rude, and destructive, Jhorndis finds himself hated by many people, and thanks to his blindness in the matter, considers everyone who hates him just "another magical fool" who "should be swept off this planet."
Raelyn:
Birth: Isilfarean
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Class: Dervish
A very alluring woman who is well endowed. She mastered the weapon known as the Scythe at the age of 15, and entered the Isilfarean army after her friend Jhorndis got in and recommended her. She hides a secret from everyone, even her friend Jhorndis and won't disclose it to anybody. She has the hots for Saerun, and tries to tempt him constantly, even during combat.
Other Important Guys:
Jordaeus: Current king of Asilfre, age 63.
Valadorus: Current king of Isilfar. Age 58.
Sir Darius Eldritch: An eldritch knight, the highest order of the Eldritch noble family. He hunts Saerun by order of King Valadorus.
