Quite the change from my drawing anime... i decided to post a side project that i did in attempts to earn more money and hopefully do websites...  :) um... i know it's a change from the typical "DarkSyDaZ" anime work... but please leave critiques... the best you can... thanks...

Sorry, I should have explained more. This is the original piece in which I had to cut her out and create a background using my photoshop abilities. This is something I decided to experiment with because I'm typically horrible with backdrops. And then I altered the picture in select places and changed the color on her bracelet. However, my ulterior motive was for her to see my talents as a freelance graphic designer and for her to funnel more work to me. And "Phoetic Imagery", I assume took the pictures, was on the original. so I decided to include the name onto my version... um... i hope that answers all questions...

Well with that out of the way... I shall now post... what everyone knows me for...

So this is the idea for the new design specs of the battle characters... done in illustrator for easy animating and more fun, this image below displays the emotes that will be in the battle system... I believe these characters will work better for several reasons.
1.) Since this is a "Anime" Style game, i believe this look on the characters will draw out more of the "anime" style to them.
2.) I don't recall seeing any "battle characters" being done in illustrator, so that will make this unique to Samurai Ragnarok
3.) Vectors are FAR more forgiving that pixels (IMO)
4.) This relies more on my artistic talent to draw characters, thus allowing for smoother animation
5.) The body parts are interchangable... allowing for quicker animations to be done
6.) ETC... (lol)

so with this i post two things... Samurai Ragnarok isn't dead... and two... what other emotes should i have...?
 
on the photo thing u should save at a higher quality or something. you made her complecsion look posativly carrot. And you should really brush the jewlery / lipstic better. it's very shoppey.

More importantly you shouldn't have had to have shopped the jewlery to begin with. You should make the background work with the model, not the model work with the background. She is, after all, the focus of the piece.

Having already seen the Faces you've got there I've nothing new to add :P

My Flash Project for Class
This was a project that i did for class that showcases the illustrator transition to both sprites and flash (thus Multi-Purpose)
However, i'm attempting to get better to release a Flash Game with more backstory on Samurai Ragnarok that would use the sprites
that are created for the battle system.

OK... after a careful decision... i've decided to terminate SR for RPG maker... instead...

Illl be making SR a flash game... so i'm working anxiously towards that result... i've begun working the the hand animations... i'm going with them because i like the hand animation rather than tweening that flash would do... I also feel that a greater degree of emotion and speed can be represented if i avoid tweening...

This should hopefully be a HUGE STEP from Katelina since new drawing steps were taken with illustrator... I apologize about the look but apparently flash doesn't make animated gif's very well... but i'll post one in "flash" once i have the basic standing animations done... but please give critiques on this one... i'm attempting to do him "breathing" but in the style i'd portray it... however i'd love to hear what you think and feel about the piece...
 
It's been a long time since i last posted here... So much stuff has happened and i think I've improved alot. Heaven's Cloud is still around and has taken in another game. We are working towards the completion of Samurai Ragnarok and a new game: Relic Keeper. I've been practicing my flash work since then and have gotten better with Illustrator (i think)...

Hey, that's been a while indeed. Those images at the bottom look quite awesome my friend.And so does the logo.
But in my opinion you should add a little "bounce" to the walking cycles, because now it looks like she's, riding a bike in midair/moonwalking. And that hair look like some kind of deformed tail made of mucus. :biggrin:
