That looks fairly decent. One minor problem might be the fact that cucumber has a pretty solid, distinct outline, whereas RTP shades the outline. The chef hat is copied directly from the RTP version, so you might want to fix that.

On the topic, I honestly doubt I can ever like templates, but on the spriting side of this. It looks very well managed

It's a great conversion, but as stated above, the character misses the dark outline.
