Story
It's a festive season for the people of Tropisean, a tiny, small country, just on the north border of Alenta. It's approaching December time, and that means the Fairy Pilgrimage is just around the corner. Where fairies from all over the globe come and gather to the great Sun Mount. However, December brings with it another cause for celebration for our heroes. George Enshaw is celebrating his birthday, and his friends, Dejack, Isla and Enrique are organising a special Birthday surprise for him. Will all the celebrations go smoothly? Will Dejack come out of this with his pride intact?

Build snowmen!

Sledging2.png

Sledging in the mountains! Watch out for trees and rocks. But the snowman gives you health back! How generous... and inexplicable.

Sliding.png

Where would a cold-climate-set game be without and old-fashioned sliding puzzle?

Rope2.png

Swinging in the mountains. It can only get harder from thereon in.

Cheers for reading this, and I hope you can enjoy! :D

Not even one reply? C'mon. |: Seems like you worked hard on this, with some interesting game-play components. And again, the sledding mini-game looks rather cool, as I wasn't expecting the diagonal thing. One of things I still need to try in the near future. :~

Very nice job with this. I played it through, and have a few comments for you.

The gameplay was very well done. You made some very nice puzzles and minigames. I liked the freedom you added into this, allowing players to roam around, playing whatever they choose. The rope swinging game was fun, although it took me several times to get through the second time (with the time limit). Sledding was fun, but difficult. I felt it was a little long; I always died around midway through the minigame. I think the snowmen were also rather rare, I only saw one once but didn't manage to hit it.
By the way, there was a little glitch with the snowman-building game. After you reset it, you couldn't roll the snowball anymore. This was in the first version, though, so you might have fixed the bug.

I liked many small touches you put into the project, like birds that would fly away when you approached. Having multiple presents to find was also great. Overall, it was very nice, and fun to play.
Good luck with the contest! You'll definitely win a good place.

That's funny about the sledging, I had to shorten it, coause it was too hard. You said it was difficult, but would you prefer it if it was slightly easier?

I hadn't picked up on that snowman glitch. Thanks for that. Thanks for your mini-review.

Yeah, sledding was far too long. I could barely make it halfway. Maybe if it was half it's current length, or even 3/4, it would be a lot more feasible.

Anyway, I enjoyed the game, especially the fact that there was some really good gameplay. The rope swinging one was especially well done. I have a few complaints, though. The snowball rolling challenge got really tedious after a while, especially having to hit the space bar every time you wanted to push it. The music, while adding to the atmosphere, got tedious and annoying after a while as well. Overall though the game was really well done (the gift giving thing at the end was neat) and the cutscenes were enjoyable. You completely deserve second.

Yeah, snowballing was definatley the weakest of the minigames. But I didn't expect people to have such trouble with the sledging. Tbh, It was a lot longer originally than it is now. Back then it was so hard, even I couldn't do it, and you know you have problems when the creator can' beat his own game, heh. Just asking, did you finish the sledging game or think "fuck it"?

Also, did ANYONE get the Adventurer's Armour, ie; the best gift in the game?

I couldn't get past the halfway point in sledding, and I tried several times, so I gave up. Maybe you could do a sort of difficulty level thing, where it starts off easy, and if you beat it then, you get the choice to do it on harder levels.

In the end I only gave George the chocolate bar, the scarf, and the textbook.

I tried to get the armor but after selling every item I had, (and I had finished all the minigames I could find, btw, including the mince pie collection) I was a few gold short.

Yeah. You gotta do the swinging minigame again, and beat your old record. That's why there's a guy in the village who tells you to hold back a bit.
