In-Depth Review

J-street, as an innovative composer that I've known from quite a time, sets off to newer heights with FATIL SERENADE.
Time by time I've encountered with his improvements, and this album is certainly no exception. The Album boasts
a clarity of RPG-esque, portraying his images with Flutes, Strings, Pizz, Harps, Drums and much more. A mixture of soft
sirene, warfare, and hints of omnipotentious taste, maybe, more than just hints, with an overal true ambient of a RPG feel, setting
far, far aside from what is typically the RTP music. If you've made your scene, and struggle with musical clarity; This album might
have you need.

"J-Street's features a 10-Track EP with a great use of woodwinds. A clearly defined style of originality and imaginative sense.http://shizu.capital-d.net/test/star4.gif[/IMG]" - Shizu, Sakari infinity Press Release

Track highlights

"Gravel above us" Has a slow horned intro that has someone coming to curiosity, revealing a wide variety of clarity in the song among the Drum and the strings. In this piece, the song might be 'punching' from time to time, but that is, ofcourse, already anticipated from the start with the
flow of the drum. The mixture of horns and flute came together nicely, a signature J-street theme, so to say.

"In those hills" Caught my attention at the first note. The start begins oh-so RPG-like, which is favored by many. The overal ambience is there with the constant flow of the drum and woodwinds. This could be easily portrayed in any RPG scene. Ofcourse, it has the composer's own flavor into the mix, which keeps it very noticeable and interesting, as for not much can really altered into this song. Perfectious, so to say.

"Leaves of Innocence" Is the calm point of this album. Calm point as in, everything is played gently and slowly. True ambience is found here, when the flute plays its melody and the harp accompanies. Dark woods, lonely town anyone?

"Open Casket Funeral"The name clearly says it all, and I assume you would not be thinking of a sad theme. J-street has done a fantastic job at keeping the strings and the horns interesting and powerful for a long time, then comes to a solid repeat.

"World at Stake"An Interesting, catchy piano lead that will keep your listening for what is to come, and the mood gets leveled higher with the lower piano, a nice transition to the Choir solo, though sometimes loses somewhat of its touch in places, yet in overal retains the 'world at stake' portayment.

Bottom Line : J-street has boasted a highly refined dose of his style, crammed up into one album.
If you're an RMXP enthousiast, you will know that such style and originality can't be found under any tree.

Fixed broken link on "Gravel Above Us."

I'm glad you guys(so far) like it! ^_^

Thanks, Fallofthetyrant for your quick critique of the album. Much appreciated.

Thank you Shizu for the In Depth review I really appreciate the time you took to do that. I also appreciate your honest, and most of all your inspiration. You're the one who has carried me in your shadow throughout my entire composing years. You always help me improve, whether it's through suggestion or through competing against you. Much love mah brudda!

Shame I couldn't have the release ready for the Nomination period. Ah, maybe next year I'll have something better ;)

Keep the reviews, comments, and critiques coming.

Have you ever played the game LBA? For some reason this slightly reminded me of the soundtrack to that.

Anyway, just listened through a couple of them, andI like them a lot, especially the way the different phrases echoed each other in the melody parts. Lovelyness.

If you're talking about The Little Big Adventure(googled and that's what it found), no; any other game using that acronym, no. :P

I'm glad you like it. I think the melody echoes add to the leads; makes them stronger, imo. Someone noticed that eh?

Partly I noticed beacuse I tend to do it quite a lot ^_^ I can really tell you went all out on this one, it's a real acomplishment.

Edit: Also, you should play LBA ^_^ It's the only game I have actually taken the soundtrack from and put into iTunes.
