4 Sprites I'm working on for my fan-game project, they're probably recogniseable

These are 4 sprites I'm working on for my game in RMXP. Obviously, it's an FF8 fangame. The template is by someone named Southerland, but his was originally formatted for VX, I think. I adjusted it to work with XP, because I just loved it too much .

the color scheme is decent, but there is one big thing that you missed: shading.  Therer is no shading at all. Try going to a thread of someones whom is a good spriter. Maybe there you can get an idea of how it works. Also, the hair isn't that great. I suggest Venetia's hair tutorial. Unfortunately, I don't know where it is, but luckily there is an awesome search engine. I am sure you will come across it at some point. Good luck :fap:

But I rly like the clothes-shapes so far.

I did shade them... I think it's the colours I chose. And Squall's (the one in black) can only be seen on a certain angle for some reason, I think it's because his clothing is a very dark brown, and not black. I was going for brown leather rather than pure black.
I'm going to look at the shading again, and really look at Selphie's (the girl in the yellow dress) hair. Her hair is difficult because it is supposed to curl up like that. And I'd only just started Zell, so he doesn't have much shading, more of an outline. His pants are really the only thing shaded.
But I'm still learning shading, it's never been my strong point. But you can't really avoid something like that. Clothing folds and shading, though I'm getting pretty good at clothing folds lately.

Your shading isn't really that good since the two colors are almost non-distinguishable :P
