Cthulhu though...that would be interesting...I don't believe they've ever been used in a movie before despite their popularity.
Well, isn't looking at him supposed to cause insanity in the viewer, according to the books? Not exactly material for a long movie... and how would you show something like that anyways? He's not really the "blow stuff up!!" kind of monster, either. Plus, the sunken city of R'lyeh is in the Pacific Ocean. Why would Cthulu appear in New York first?

Anyways, using this kind of tactic to artificially build hype just irritates me. Doubt I'd bother with the movie when it does come out.

yeah I actually went through frame-by-frame and found it, heh. Thought it was interesting, not too adamant about the idea though.

but that is just a blurred light! plus i think someone mentioned earlier about toho suspending the licencing rights to gojira until 2013.

Yep that's what I said. But that's not to say it's not a creature that resembles Godzilla.

According to This Site the movie actually starts at the end. A rescue and clean-up crew are going through the rubble and they find a camera. They hit play on the Camera and the movie plays from there.

Not sure how valid this description is, but I think it'll be cool to see a monster that plays out like that.

What do you all think?

I can say I'm surprised this is a Hollywood blockbuster and not French or British Cinema from it's style- the content may just turn out to be the usual crap.

Maybe.... but then again could be pretty good. J.J. Abrams has made some really good stuff. Even the not so good MI:III was good in it's own way.
