The Healer

Very well done. The mapping is great, and there's a "delicate" feel to it some how. The details are very well executed as well, such as the dazed-birds animation; they really add a nice touch. :) The pan-up -> down time-skip thing was pretty cool, reminded me of in the movies, heheh.

I've not done playing through it yet but, here's a minor bug:
When you go from the school down south into the town, you get teleported right ontop of the transport event from the town to the school. The result is that if you immediately head up after being teleported to the town from the school map, you are able to get to the filler map that's north of the town. Really minor and doesn't have anything impact, but just something.

Yikes. Thanks for catching that bug.

I'm pretty content with the opening of the game but if I watch it too many times I'll end up changing it. But that's not necessarily a bad thing considering how the opening looked when I first started this game.

Just played the newest demo. That's a lovely story so far. I liked the dialogues, agile and never boring.
When Cece says she wanna go back it's touching... really :)

When Aria wakes up the day of the trial, if she goes to the dungeon and enters the door at the end of it, the cutscene repeats.
 
I don't know if someone mentioned it already, but there's a little glitch where if you go back to the first cave after you beat it, if you go through to the top the whole cinematic plays over again.
 
Thank you both for catching that bug. It's been fixed but will not be uploaded until the next demo is released.

At first, I was debating whether or not to make cece and the professor playable. I needed to have aria and zayn alone for the cliff scene. Once I decided to have cece playable, I needed to figure out a way to make her leave the party. She couldn't go alone so that's when I decided to make the professor playable so that he could escort her home. I thought about making cece injured so she couldn't continue but then it wouldn't make sense for aria and zayn to stay. They would naturally take her home. So it couldn't be something too serious. That's when I realized, hey cece's just a kid and she's allowed to change her mind. I also like how that scene turned out because it stays within her character.
 
I am playing the demo now. I am stuck in the cave, but I will work on it ^^

So far it seems really good.
I like your mapping and the music is really fitting.
You have a(nother) fan in me  ;D
 
Love your game! Like your previous project "All is not Lost", this game provides a simple introduction and an interesting storyplot. The sound effects, maps and puzzles create realistic effects of the game. I really like the idea that Cece and the professor join in the party - so original (they look like child and guardian to me)! Despite few bugs in this game, I am looking forward to your next demo. There is an error in your game I just found...

During the boss fight in the cave, when I select Escape Powder in the item menu, the game crashes.

Dalton, if you're still stuck, read through the thread and you'll find some hints on the cave - you're probably stuck on the nectar.

rika3000, personally, I'm not a fan of long intros. I want player control as soon as possible and that's what I strive to do in my own projects. I fixed the error with the escape powder. It was due to my trying to insert a code from slipknot's message system, which doesn't work in battle text.

Now the bad news, I was hit with inspiration not too long ago, but now it's gone so things have slowed down considerably. That means, I don't know when the next demo will be released but I promise to work on it when I get inspired again.

The newest addion to it was great, I took the swift route and only just made it with a second to spare, after about ten attempts before hand but! I did get there.
Aria looks amazing in her healer robes, and she and Zayn have such a cute relationship.
Can't wait to see what comes next.
 
Nice beginning! I haven't played all of it yet. I just came out of the house after Zayn came in. The dance thing was hilarious! You got good laughing and crying effects too. However, I found very minor bugs, but you might wanna fix them.

Hmm. I'm not sure if this is an error or not, but shouldn't the things in green be where the red is?

I think this has been shown already, but you should really fix it (passability) It really does look like the player is flying.

Very minor, but easy to notice. Just trying to make your game better.  ;D

Lolz my second edit in like, 15 mins. I found 1 more bug.

This isn't exactly one error...it happens every once and so often. Aria tends to "talk for other people".

Hehe, I always cheat on this part when I'm playtesting.

And as far as Aria and Zayn go, I definitely have a lot in store for them. I hope they can handle it.

Speedolphins, omigod that mus[h]room thing is hilarious. I never would have caught it. At first, I couldn't even see the error in your screen until I finally looked at the top. Thanks for catching it.

The cliff thing was done intentionally because I wanted that particular section to look like a pond. And I've betting getting a lot of grief over allowing the characters to walk to the edge so I'll consider changing it. I just hate how it makes the player stop a full tile away from the edge. Maybe I'll edit the tileset or something.

Whoops. I'll fix the mom thing. I've got to say, you have a funny way of pointing out errors - I found myself laughing out loud at each one. Thanks.
 
Sorry, there's nothing new to show and there won't be until I feel inspired again. I think that forcing myself to work on it when I'm not motivated will kill my love for this project.
 
yeah i know what u mean i have started a game but after a little bit u think it isant good then start a new one (if your not inspired). so if that happens i find a movie or something  that i found  that made me want to make the game then i get motivated again 
 
Hey really enjoyed the game, quick question that's spoilerish:

After you become Healer and Zayne is kind of a jerk and you go and talk to him are you supposed to get a game over, ending the demo? Or, did I do something wrong/got a really weird bug?
