Youtube Copyright Problems

Everyone who has videos of their games on Youtube please lookout for companies who are trying to claim your work. You can check your account and if a notice is there about copyright problems then CHECK IT! If you are already noticing ads on your videos then a company is claiming/disputing copyrights to the work. I recently had to dispute GoDigital who is trying to claim my game Dark Chaos.

I am sure some companies are doing this just to get more ads online then actually really wanting the rights to the games.

Oh okay, I'll look at any of our videos we upload. I seriously doubt it will bother me if there's like pepsi cola next to my game's video, but if I've got a video that's worth advertising they should pay me.

You quite clearly missed the question mark!

You're such an attention whore RKO.

Anyways, on topic, GoDigital is not trying to steal your game, but rather make money by sticking ads onto your video. GoDigital has an AdShare Program that they have been pushing on people for a while now. In reality, the Copyright claim is invalid, and is used as a way to 'tag' the video so ads can be displayed. You are in no danger of actually losing your work. No company wants dinky RM games, unlicensed music, or amateur videos.

http://www.godigitalmg.com/adshare.php is a link to their AdShare Program. While you may find this annoying, you can expect little help on any front. Google does not mind. You may be lucky enough to have any claim addressed by GoDigital, though you may also be ignored.

Welcome to Social Media.

I understand that they just want advertisements. Still the small risk is there from a company or some person.

You know, this isn't really worth it. Why did you post two quotes and bold one, oh wait, I know why. You're trying to prove you knew everything he said before he said anything, but the topic of your title was copyright problems, and you were trying to warn us. I would be surprised if those companies made any money off of the few views the video has anyway. I would just let it go and come back in a month and post about more legit things and maybe everything will be cool. :smoke:

Wait, did I miss something, or do you guys think that there is no problem that they are forcing ads on your video by pretending they have a copyright claim to it?

Unfortunately this is what happens when someone says they're leaving forever and then comes back in less than a month.

Ok, so the thread has really turned to calling him on his troll or whatever instead of talking about something that really might be a problem? Why don't we forget him and get back on topic?

I haven't had a problem with this yet, but I also only have one video that is just me playing guitar, so I don't think they care much about that, probably doesn't have enough views to get their attention. Has this happened to anyone else?

Again, who cares? They still do not have a copyright and Google/Youtube does not care. If you do not want potential ads on your video, simply do not post videos on Youtube. If you do not like this, well, tough shit.

Again, welcome to social media.
