I was about to start working on the nexter template a while back but i put it away to improve my YM template some more, i changed things for the better and i used the same style legs as the nexter, same for the female too witch i'm working on now, the female will have a better look than the last.

I also changed the color to something similar to the nexter ( a better color imo).
And i made an extra dark skin color.

EDIT: Male now below with female, extra skin colors coming later on.

That char you made looks really good. The style on it is a lot less cartoony than I thought it was. I could see that guy being used as the main character in a tactics game.

Sure more serious looking characters are not a problem, didn't put much thought into that character but it's good for an example.

I don't consider myself great, but I'm not too shabby i think.

A small update, I've almost completed the female, just have to make the 2nd and 4th frames for the back view, but there are still some things that bother me so i'm going to be working on her for a while longer, i don't think the topic will die before then but if it does i will just upload the temp to the sticky or resurrect this topic

It looks good, but the muscles are a bit too well formed. It kinda makes it look like the michelan tire man.

Lol yeah i've heard something that before, but i like it as is, this way there will be an even bigger difference between the male and female body types .

loving it! if you ever have some free time could you help make some sprites for my game or maybe even teach me how to sprite RTP myself?

The only complaint I have is that the upper back muscles (or shoulder blade outlines) are waaaay to defined. It looks a bit sick. I think you should try to make the two lines of definition there be far from connecting with eachother.
Then again, I can't sprite to save my life, so I could be wrong.
If I am, I give you permission send threatening emails to me.

I've also made some slight fixes to the male, NOTHING BIG AT ALL just some shading stuff, the biggest thing i changed is some pixels for the arm that swings to the front on the 2nd and fourth frames of the frontal, and now i will also improve the shoulder blade area on him as well, i will upload the female later today to see what you folks say, then after a while i will up that to the sticky.

And i will upload the male directly to the sticky.

Edit: Uzumakishade: I'm working on a game myself right now so i can't help sorry, you should maybe try joining the pixel academy though, should be very helpful

very nice FoN I really like your work with this template however I think you should really cut down the number of shades that you use. I counted 16 different shades. Those slightly different shades don't do much at all. try just sticking to a palette of 8-9 shades.

Thanks, yeah i have a habit of using more sometimes lol, next temp will be a lot more simpler for sure =), i may go for a pokemon/Loz sprite look then, but that's along ways off.

EDIT: Kay here's the female, and i have re-uploaded the male to the sticky, i will make the extra skin colors before i get to the child.

Just bumping the topic to give some news and to upload a picture of two possible YM creations.

The child is coming along nicely so far, haven't had much time to work on it but i have the frontal animation complete, i have also improved the arms a tad, they don't look so stiff now, after the child i may possibly work on this chubby male and female..maybe , here's a picture.. tell me what you folks think of 'em so far.
