Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

Ye gods, it's been a while.

So, some of you might remember me. I went AWOL sometime a couple years back a little while after being promoted to moderator for the resource analysis forum (I think? I barely remember). I effectively forgot about rpg maker for a little while because a lot of stuff was happening in my life that made it difficult to use it much. I don't remember my exact reasons for disappearing. But something brought me back, despite my current lack of RMXP (I am now on a mac [I know, boooooo, but it's damned fast and good for music making], and haven't quite figured out how to dual boot so I can run the program yet), and I figure I might as well at least lurk around for a little while and see what's been up in the community since I left.

And I've still been making plenty of music lately, so maybe I'll share a little of that too.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Arcanum, or Adam for those who want a name to attach to the pseudonym. I make music, a bit of orchestral stuff and a bit of progressive rock. I used to do a lot of pixel art but I am rusty as all hell. Mostly I'm just a nostalgic old community member that's been around on and off (but mostly off in the past years) since the .net days.

So, hey there HBgames! Nice to make your (re)acquaintance. :)

Awesome Bro

I think I can VAGUELY remember you actually, the name sounds pretty familiar... you were still around in 2007, right?

Anyways, I'll see if I can come up with a welcome speech...

*Ahem*

Willkommen!

I think so! It's been so long, I really don't remember. I remember your name too, among others. JD Slasha, Reives, Venetia, TheInquisotor, whoever was in charge of "Master of the Wind" (Volrath?), perihelion, and miss matcha are the ones I remember the most right now, though I'm sure I'm missing many important ones. Regardless... danke! It's good to be back.

Meh, I'm the only impotent member in this joint :shades:

But anyways yeah, welcome back to the forums, I assume a lot has changed since you left, mainly in the staff and regular members here, since we've got a whole bunch of outcasts running this place, lol (... Shh!).

Soo... when/if you get RMXP again, do you have any ideas at the moment you're hoping to make a game out of, or just going to be fiddling with it and get nowhere? (Like myself)

You should also post some of your music here, since it's rare to find composers on homebrew websites, everyone is a "writer" or eventer here, with quite a few artists and some spriters (Again, like myself), so yeah, you need to get back into spriting too :

Heyyyy welcome back

I really doubt you remember me (a majority of the active userbase didn't know I existed until about a year and a half ago)
I used to be "lonelyelf"
if you were around later though, I was abreaction, then action...

I do remember you though :)

Thanks erryone. :)

@Jbrist: You know what, I've been inspired. I'm currently working on getting my computer to dual boot windows... a lengthy process since I've never done it before, mostly. Once I do that I think I want to make something again. I don't know what yet, but I have like an hour worth of music I've written and a decent amount of my old sprites and tiles that I made back in the day... so at least I have a good set of materials to go from.

@Mouse: Were you Wyatt before? I remember you too! Yay!

@ActionMan: Your names look strangely familiar for some reason. I might have seen you around once, but I dunno, once again, it's been too long. Regardless, I'm flattered. Yay for being remembered!
