XP Scripts: Usable in VX?

For example, a script such as DubeAlex's Advanced Message System.

(though, to be entirely accurate, I'm using HERMES at this time)

If they are incompatible, how incompaible?  [Won't work at all, lots and lots of bugs, only basic stuff, minor incompatibilities, 100% compatible with minor changes to code, and 100% compatible are all valid answers.]

RPG Maker XP and VX each come with different features and different ways of implementing them.  Scripts that rely on the features or implementation of one version can be expected to be incompatible with the other version.

On the other hand, RGSS, the graphic library used in XP and VX games, is relatively unchanged between the two versions.  Scripts that use only RGSS features (such as bitmaps, sprites, etc.) have a better chance at being compatible.
