Xenosaga 3-the verdict is in

The first reputable english review is in, the score?
9.5!
http://www.gamebrink.com/playstation-2/1041-Xenosaga_III-reviews.html
To put things in perspective, the reviewer gave the first game an 8.5, didnt bother with the 2nd, gave the 1 and 2 remake for DS a 4.5. So not a raging fanboy by any stretch. The review basically states 3 strikes the median two was meant to but failed miserably. Before anyone coins that as selling out, dont be daft. Even intelligent dramas like GITS are smart enough to know nobody is above the allure of women in skimpy outfits. Its not selling out, its common sense and if it doesnt comprimise the story its a none-issue. Pretty good news about the game, though. I might even buy it. Opinions?

Well, the soundtrack slightly interest me, but as for the game itself...nothing new imo. They just added some movements and new bonus methods. The Xenosaga series just isn't where it's at.

Number 2 was so slow it made me want to slit my wrists..... >_<

And I gave up totally when the difficulty curved stupidly fast so you couldn't even level anymore.

PS you were post number 6 and view number 66. Coincedence? HARDLY

Hehe, We all know why that is ;)

I might look into it if it's much better improved.

I hate this town. No one has it, and all they can tell me is it's in transit. -_-

Episode 2 wasn't THAT bad, it was just... retardedly different.

Episode 3 is awesome, that's all I have to say. I'm going on vacation and won't be able to finish it before I go, but I'm on the last chapter and loving every minute of it.

Two things that strike me though - Shion became a real bitch in episode 2, and that doesn't get much better this time around, and what the hell happened to MOMO's voice? Sherry Lynn did a good job, and since she's one of those dime a dozen anime actors, you'd think they'd be able to bring her back. (Thank God they fixed Kos-Mos.)

Saying that that was the first reputable english review though made me laugh with sadness...

psh...

Xenosaga III is great. I thought I'd have the stupid thing done in 12-15 hours, but I think I'm finally getting close at 27 hours.

It ties up ends without leaving you spinning with a "what the hell?" feeling some series.

Stupid game has had me playing until way too early in the morning for days now when I have other things to do with my life! Damn their stupid addicting awesome play and long game.

I like that they didnt force you to go to a city after every level. Im toying with the idea of a "resting point" with all the stores and crap and the ability to save, basically substituting a filler town with people saying a bunch fo inimportant uninteresting crap. I also really like how they did cities and NPC dialogue, cus you just walk by and can tell is someone has something new/interesting to say and if they dont, just keep going. I liked a lot of stuff, really.
Now I'd really like them to make a gold compilation with uniform style on the PS3(cus the damn thing keeps freezing on the crappy PS2) and work in the Pied Piper storyline since Ziggy still doesnt get enough screentime. And also an alternate path/ending or something, and a less bitchy Shion. But that wont happen, but I'd like it to. But it wont. :(
But maybe it will! I hope so, cus something happened near the end that made me want to play through the whole thing again with the new perspective. Ima pray for Xenosaga Complete for the PS3 tonight, let's hope U-DO God is listening.

Does xenosaga 3 still have those long 20 min cut-scenes? Cause thats one of the things I dont like about it, I want to play! Not watch a movie( even though the cut-scenes are entertaining).

Yes, it does. It has a total of 8 hours of cutscenes. Besides, it shouldn't matter if you like the story enough.
