Xbox data recovery

Recently, I got the Red rings of death on my 360. Luckly I had the service plan at Best Buy so I was able to get a new one. The question is, I kept my hard-drive with all my stuff on it. I had downloadable content for a bunch of games, and I don't want to download it all again with my shitty DSL. What do I do to recover the new data on the new X-box?

If I had to guess you'd just plug the old drive into the new xbox 360, but I know with the original xbox the drive is locked to a number unique to each box.  Since the new one is portable I would hope that's not the case though.  If you have the expertise to be comfortable with doing this you might got get a driver for xbox (I think it's called xfs or ntfx) file systems and pull that drive out of the enclosure, plug it into a pc and back it up.

That may not be all that helpful, hopefully someone else here knows more.  If not, there's always our friend google :)

If you mean transfering from the old HDD to the new HDD,Xplorer 360, if it is out of beta..., would be your best bet.  You can find it in the usual places...  If that means nothing to you, look for a softmodding site...  they have links for it...

If you do a best buy trade, your going to run into a nasty DRM problem. Everything you have downloaded, will not be aviliable while offline. Best bet is just to sent to microsoft, unless you are always connected to live.
