WoW Constant Update Problem...

Hey everyone, I have a question that WoW players might be able to answer. I had the game for a while, maybe a month or so, and I finally got enough money for a 60 Day prepaid game card. So, I just made my account and attempted logging in. It worked, but after a super quick download in the game, it requests that I restart the game. So when I click OK, WoW closes and the WoW patcher comes up. 2-3 hours pass and its done. When I log in, it just downloads quickly and then makes me sit through another 2-3 hour patch.

What the heck is wrong with this?

There are a LOT of patches to download.

It has to patch to the current version, if you are installing fresh (Version 1.10 or 1.0 I assume) and the patches are broken up into smaller pieces partially for convenience, and partially to infuriate you.

I'm assuming it's downloading new patches each time? Yeah. The current version is 2.0.12, if that helps you know how far off you are.

If you've installed World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, you will be at patch 2.0. Currently there is no standalone patch from 2.0 to 2.0.12, there are probably two or three patches.

If you do not have The Burning Crusade installed, I'd suggest downloading it from the World of Warcraft website (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com) and installing it, as it will skip a lot of patches.
