I am making a game about a young witch whose name is WitchHazel
I am 12, and this is my first game, but I hope it will turn out well

Storyline

It's about a young Witch girl called WitchHazel. During a strange storm, she finds an orange jewel, that for some reason only she can touch. She didn't think much of it though, and continued on her way back to her village PumpkinVille. But, on the way back, she meets three people who try to steal the jewel from her. She doesn't know who they are, so she fights, but fails, getting knocked out. And when she awakens, she's in an orphanage in a strange far away town.

Characters

WitchHazel
After her parents died in a potion accident when she was young, she lives by herself in a small Witch town called PumpkinVille.


Tomothy aka Warthog
Tomothy was cursed by a witch when he was young, making him able to turn into a warthog. years later, his father was lost at sea, and his mother was so sad she went into the forest and disapeared. Tomothy was sent to an orphanage in his town, but it was later burnt down, and so he was moved to another orphanage in a far away town


Matilda
Matilda was born and grew up in the Elven kingdom. She lived there by herself in a small house, and was quite happy. She knew some small magic, and wanted to be a healer. Not much adventure struck her life.


Rembrant Keep
Rembrant is an elf, and a well known traveler of the world. However, now, soon to retire, he longs for a last adventure.


Arealea
Arealea is a young Sylph (it's a type of Fairy) she is quiet and nice, and she has spent her whole life in her city, Armon, although she has studied and knows the area around it well. She would like to someday leave her village, but is not old enough yet.


Naira
Naira is a young witch girl. She has lived her whole life in Cauldron City, but is bored and tired of living there.


Tyrin
Tyrin is a Witch who loves dark magic. She used to live in a small town, but one day left it when hearing about some humans who knew how to get control over all dark magics. She found them, and now they are searching for the five deamons who were encased in stone


Lynce
A young man who was born with strange powers of darkness. After falling in love with a Witch called Tyrin, he now allies with her and his friend Gavin.


Gavin
A trained warrior, Gavin goes along with Lynce because he was forced to protect him and be his bodyguard.

I kinda like it. It's simple and fun.

It lacks in storyline, unless you're just keeping that a secret for now. And what are you thinking for the battle system? Traditional?

The map and the sprites look good. You're off to a good start. Keep it up.

Well, I wasn't really sure how to introduce the full storyline. But it continues with her meeting Tomothy in the orphanage, and then her escaping. She then tries to get back to her village buts she is caught by someone who tells her that she can't just go flying around because people will notice.
She then learns that she is the only one who can free these deamons who were encased in stone many years ago, and that only she can destroy them that way they can't be used by Tyrin, Lynce and Gavin.

That's the main storyline.

(I am actually 12, and I did not know that that is to young to be on this site)

Anyway, the story sounds nice and you are off to a good start here. The mapping is nice, although it could use some improvement. Like judging the screenie you posted, perhaps shrink it down a little and add more stuff. ^^

I'd like to see more of it. ^^

also I think that your mapping is nice, although this is mostly composed of characters (Like mine...), It seems interesting and well thought out, but why did the witch hazel person end up in the orphanage. I think that you should add some more detail for the character biographies for some characters. the Lynce guy needs a recolor of the hair to fit in with the others, but that's just me.

zchin, Lionel is 9 (Or 10 ?), there's also another member named the.illness, he's 9 too (Or 10 ?), I don't see what age has to do with anything, as long as no one's acting about being retarded...

So from the screenshots, the mapping isn't too bad, I mean, there's obviously room for improvement, but it's a good start. Some of the characters seem a little cliche, and I have to question Tomothy's "curse", how is being able to turn into a warthog a curse ? If anything, it's an added extra, since he could use it as a disguise to get around places, I sure wish I could do that, lol.

As for the story, it doesn't give away too much, which I like to be honest, since I don't see the point playing a game when all of the story has already been shared by the creator, it doesn't make the game as interesting, since you know what's going to happen...

Just one question about the story though, is there a reason only WitchHazel can touch the orange jewel ? (Also, why is she called WitchHazel, why not just Hazel ?)

Most people call her Hazel, but her full name is WitchHazel. I don't really know why, but It just seems to fit.
I do have a reason for why she is the only one that can touch the jewel, but I'm not sure if I should say it, since you will learn it later on in the game.

Just a suggestion, do you think that you can crop the sprites in this thread to make it the first frame, I just don't think that you should post the whole charset, if you know what I mean. (You probably don't).

Hm. My guess is that Hazel could be a descendant of a band of heroes that sealed away the demons in the stones. Still, either way you slice it, I imagine that the OP has their reasons for not disclosing details of the story.

And the screenshots are pretty impressive. Custom tileset?

At any rate, the look and feel of the story seems charming, and I look forward to seeing what will come next. ^_^

The tileset is about 2 tilesets put together, then with some add ons, so It's sort of custom.

I added another character, her name is Matilda, (It may change though, her name).

I don't think that this topic deserves to be treated this way, someone other then the creator should cherish it, and help it grow, I don't intend on losing this project to death!

@WitchHazel: Also, I think that you should put more efforts and if nobody replies then make updates for often to keep it near the top which will increase the number of viewers.
