[WIP] Website I'm working on.

Ok, for one of my college classes, we needed to make a basic site with tables, a top mounted menu, blah, blah, blah.
I did more than I needed to, so I decided to continue working on it.
I might use it later, so I'm looking for critique.

Agreed, if you're learning to use WYSIWYG software and it's old and makes a table layout that's one thing but they shouldn't start by teaching you bad habits intentionally. This is why I say the classroom is not a good place to learn web design   Everyone knows if you fail at something in the real world you teach it instead ;0

Heh, its not really something new I'm learning. We aren't learning dreamweaver or anything.
Its just a pre-req.

This looks like a fake website you'd find on a computer in an sub par RM2K game, to be completely honest.

I wouldn't really focus on the design at this point, since the author in question is taking a basic web design course, but rather use and efficacy of code. The point of these classes, as near as I can tell speaking to friends and colleagues who have suffered through them, is to introduce you to the means for implementing designs (usually poorly) rather than to teach art skills. In the future for threads like this you want to worry about whether the code is achieving the design goals in the best manner, and whether it's valid.  Tips on design are always welcome of course, but "this is ugly" is not a useful comment.

Also note the date of last reply, this forum doesn't see a ton of activity so I'm not hard on necroposting here but technically this was a month-old thread. Please be sure you have a useful comment or tip that can improve either the OP's technique or that of other readers, and that it's relevant to the topic, before considering reopening an older thread. ~N
