WIP-Template

I've only just got this crazy idea of making a tileset, so I spent about 10 minutes on this. Tell me what you think:

The arms look a little 'bowed', and I can't make the legs look right at all XD

It looks very unnatural- and the head is a direct rip from the RTP.

My suggestion is not to take on a "template" of your own if you're still in the stages of editing the RTP. Try building from complete scratch.

Forgot to mention, the head is only temporary :P Can't get the actual one right yet; thanks anyway.

You know, I swear, I gotta laugh. There must be more templates out there than there are custom sprites. Seriously, it's useless, it's pointless, and completely redundant to create a new template. RTP, Vex, and HKaizers are all you need. That's it. When will people stop making templates and start making REAL sprites people can USE. Unless you're planning to remake all the RTP sprites and tilesets with this template, why bother?

Maybe because people enjoy using their own custom graphics, and not something that will have the same build as everybody else's sprites who happened to use the same template.

This guy's right- and I can't stress it enough.

You do not want to start off trying to make something from scratch, like a template. You should start by working on other templates to understan more of how to sprite. It takes a long time to get to the point where you can do original work. And a lot of practice.

guys, you cant judge a person's REAL spriting abilities just off a template. and actually i bet he'd whoop you and kip, cortez...
skyline's an awesome spriter and i think you guys should give him a chance to explain things and not just dis him to start up with.

Come on, now. What year is it now? Now subtract five from that.

Still, spriting for RPG Maker 2000 isn't much. Anybody could sprite for RPG Maker 2000, it was easy.

On topic; the template is not much that is new or particularly original. If you're going to actually make a template then you might as well make it something unique, instead of average-sized and average-looking.
