WIP-Sandy_Doors

I drew this a little while ago but i still want to finish it,
Sooooo.....
Any feed-back would help.

Ok, This is supposed to be the view of someone that is inside a cave/vault thing and is
looking out at the freshly reviled landscape seconds after the door opened.

The FIRST/OLD version i drew....OLD PHOTO HOST DIED

The color update and start on the inside of the doors/ NEW.
FOUND OLD COPY OF IMAGE AND REUPLOADED

PS:: I want to include all the inside that i cut off of the first one, I just haven't reached that
point yet.

Imgzoom, please! xoxo Perihelion

Sheesh bill you're getting better. I think a little more contrast on the new one, and redo the door. Cause it looks flat compared to the rest. Also I'm not a fan of the dithered sky, at least tone down the contrast so it's not such a sudden change. Other then that, it's looking really good.

Ok,
I changed the colors.
Added more contrast on the sand and door,
And i also changed the sky to more of a purple color so it
blends with the brown sand dunes better.

I think that looks better.

Great job, doesn't nearly look as washed out. But I think you should add rust too the door. Keep up the good work.

Hey, a nice start! Your sand dunes are lovely, and the sand ripples are well done, although I think you should make the ridges a bit less uniform--maybe color between a few of them with the middle shade or something and add a bit more height variation with them. City looks good, but I wouldn't dither the sky if I were you. Maybe three bands of colors with cloudy-looking divisions, or better yet, actual clouds. I'm thinking something like Owlboy. The floor texture looks decent, but the door isn't as detailed as the rest of the scene and looks out of place. I agree with rust or something.

While individually the parts of this look good, it isn't working compositionally for me. There's no depth; the floor and door look completely separate from the desert outside, more like a picture frame than part of the scene. I think adding some strong ambient lighting would help that a lot, like lighting up the bottom of the door and the entrance to the room. I also like the way you had sand spilling in with the original one.

Also, can you use imgzoom?

I messed with the sky.
But
My good monitor just died.
Sooo
I can't tell if the colors are right...
ERRRRRR!!!

EDIT::
Oops I forgot to put the image in Imgzoom tags.

Great job on the clouds, they really enhanced the overall image! Come to think of it, it is kinda odd for a desert scene to have so much clouds but still they look really good so I'd keep 'em!

Overall its looking alot better now than the origional image did, but you're lacking the sand leaking in through the door way like the 1st image had. If you brought that back, it would look better! It looks more like you're looking through the peep slot than walking through a door the way it is now.

And yes, the colors to me look great!

I'd just get rid of that one horizontal line in front of the door - that's what's messing with it looking connected. Great work!
