Awesome Bro

... I've got 3 of the tshirts on that picture, lol...

I'm not really a fan of Anime/Manga, so I'm gonna' disagree with that for the time being, unless you can put up the finished product when it's done, then we'll talk, lol.

Yeah, uh, jbrist, try to post more usefully in the future, please.

Azrith, the legs are really long. That anatomical nitpick aside, your palettes lack contrast. The hair in particular has shades that are almost impossible to tell apart. So up the contrast and do more hue variation--shadows are generally cooler and less saturated than highlights (sliding the color towards purple or blue is generally a good bet). Finally, you're texturing before you're defining forms. Block in big areas of light/shadow before you add detail, and your work will look much more three-dimensional.

I love I Fight Dragons. They sent some stuff to my radio station over the summer and I loved it.
I like what you have so far, but yeah the legs are kind of long. When it's done, you should send it to the band, I'm sure they'll love it!

I haven't actually spoken to him in a while, but I'm pretty sure that fan art (while vastly appreciated) would not go over that well with Brian or the other members if done in an anime/manga style unless you were a very good artist. At least try to keep their original hairstyles. Brain has never had long spiky hair, nor will he ever if I know him at all (and I do)

Umm, thats nice? I really don't care if they don't like anime/manga style, I do, its my art. On another note I'm not changing the hair, yet again my art my style. My main plan wasn't to make them look like themselves. Please stay on topic and only comment if its about the pixel art, my question was does it look good not if you know the band members or if they will like it. Thank you

I wasn't trying to deride your work. It's just that fan art is meant as a tribute to the original, and I am merely giving my views as someone who actually knows one of the members of IFD.

okay, how does the original dude's short hair equate into that generic anime mess?

also, what happened to his beard, and why does he suddenly have the physique of a malnourished scenester?

he's wearing the same clothes, but that's it. in my opinion, it'd be more useful to you in the long run to try and stick to how the guy actually looks; get some practice in drawing different hairstyles and physiques. as it stands, it's obvious that you know how to draw exactly one style of person, and plan to stick with that as long as the world'll let you.

and please stop trying to pass it off as "style." even the most abstract of styles aims to have the depiction resemble the subject on some level. here, you've given a scene teen a Superman shirt. that is it.

While I said above i liked what you were doing with the art (as in, you have some decent talent) I agree with everyone about the style. But then again, it's fan art, were apparently everyone can look however someone wants or with a tail or what ever.... I did say show them, but only if it actually depicted them..

Okay seeing how im off school and have no work today im going to change his hair and add the beard/scruff.

it's obvious that you know how to draw exactly one style of person, and plan to stick with that as long as the world'll let you.

No, I know more then one style, I just prefer one over the other, please no flaming.

-Thanks I will update soon

it's not flaming to suggest that you only know one art style o.O
if you disagree thats fine but it's not flaming in any way, shape, or form ...

anyway you need to learn to do block shading. check out pixeljoint sometime and look at the WIP gifs that you may see on the Weekly Favorite pieces. You'll see what I mean--they block out the highlights and shades first, then refine.

edit: here's a good one. http://gas13.ru/newskul/spacebath_inprogress.gif
