WIP HK stuff- need advice/critique.....

well...i was bored...so i decided to try HK spriting.....well i got this done:

killed the warrior dude....so all i have left is my mage:-

Well this is another of my WIP's....i'm gonna finish my Mage Robe.....tell me what u guys think of this:-
2 versions: With Gloves and Without Gloves:-

Based on Armor found in World of Warcraft

I like the Robe, but if some1 finds out sumthing wrong, plz point it out and tell me how i should go bout correcting it......


here's where i designed them from:

The Robe and mage helm are designed from uniques found in Diablo....i used these:
Robe(The Nightcape)
and:-
Mage Helm(The Undead Crown)
 
ummmmm........it would be very helpful if u could tell me which needs more shading....(or if all of em do....)cuz i'm not sure which ur talking about.......
 
Well those blades need more detail like a bit of a darker around the edges and the bottom part of the robe need to have some sort of light hitting it but i think i would be wrong but send me the change and i will see what else needs changing
 
I've got some shading examples I'll try uploading to help you.

I got to say that female dress looks really tight. Like if she tried walking she'd have to take small steps and probably trip. Same with the male robe but not so much. The Gold part on the mage's chest looks nice but the shading on the crown doesn't match.

The shading on the armor is all over the place. The helmet is lit from the top, but the horns are lit from to left. And the body armor is lit from the center. Keep it consistent.

In my spiky horn orb example I used a lot less colors then what you used and I didn't gradate or blend from one shade to the next. (Some people would say that using pure white or pure black in a sprite is a no no. But its depends on your preference or the program your using. Since some programs translate black as transparent.)
 
Aight.....after a long hard thinking session....i've decided to kill the armored fellow.....so now...i'm only working on my mage robe and my armored dress thing.....starting with the mage robe....i've finished the first row....updated in my first post.....here's how he looks moving:

haven't modified my girl armr/robe thing yet....i'll do that maybe after the mage......

edit:- I fixed that annoying fact that the lower part of the robe doesn't seem to move(see the animation above^)......i'll upload when i do something solid........
 
Make the shoulders move, right now it looks like his shoulders are pinned to the wall and he's trying to walk free! You also have to make the upper part of the legs move more!
