[WIP]Futuristic Tileset Series

NOTE:This topic auto updates. There might be upgrades to the tileset that have not been posted about.

Well this will be the first in a series of futuristic tilesets I'm making.
I'll take object suggestions and critiques. I know it's not very shaded, but hell I don't know how to shade these damn tilesets.

When it's finished it should be compatible with RTP and VEX sized sprites.
Note that this work is amateur at best. I'm not really a pixel artist at all so...

Everything is pretty much original(the pics on the computers were googled and resized :P) It's a WIP. I still need to do a roof autotile, so excuse that.

Awesome Bro

I love simple tilesets J ( No offense meant by that )! I love the way this looks...seriously. There's definately room for improvement as far as critique goes, but i don't think you was going for anything to extravagant in the first place, Where you?

Of course not :P I'm an amateur at this, and I will improve over time. I'm actually just doing it because somehow I find it kinda fun. I don't want to be labelled as a tileset artist by any means.

Good shit, J...nice one! I've been away from the entire rmxp scene for a while now, let alone the tileset making! But It's good to see a person I have a lot of respect for anyway following the same interest as i do ^_^

I never wanted to be branded a tileset artist, it just happened. In total, i believe i made one complete tileset, and the majority of it were edits and compilations of existing art-work from the RTP! Although, drawing tilesets is becoming a recent hobby...I just hope the forum reacts well to something different.

I like it J. Looks good you should keep it up with TS making, its a simple TS yet it looks so nice. I envy you artistic people, I cant make a TS, let alone a Icon. I would actual myself like to be branded somthing, yet what I think I'm good at is mapping and Eventing, so I basicly need the TS I find for more help so to say. lol

I added on more to the tileset and made a character set out of the computers.

@AlexL
I'm not one of those "artistic" people when it comes to graphics. I'm a musician. Hell I just took a shot in the dark for making a TS.

-Added Opening Plastic Cylinder Objectset.

Finally you start original tilesets and this is a great first one. I see many tilesets now that have the less shaded walls and this simply looks great man. I think though you maybe should come up with a few more various tiles or flooring as the white tile especially stands out too much when creating an exit from a room it looks like a part of the wall to me. Really good though for a first keep it going ^-^

If you ~EVER~ need help, just holla!!

I remember my first tileset was the insides of a spaceship too :) if you need help with what to put in, you can take a look at the tileset I did, Ya know!

Well the floor was just showing another tile, I have the wall to go with it.

Thanks man, I've actually had a lot of pixellers' support which is good to know ^_^ A reference piece definitely wouldn't be to bad. I'm not good with textures at all(especially compared to you) so be easy on me :P

It was only a matter of time before you started the tilesets.
This one is (and will be) a great one. I'm sure after it's completion we'll start seeing it and peices of it popping up in games all over the place. (Thats a compliment).

Wow lol the big time sprites are droping in, impresive.

And as for what I said about spriting, I don't know if it's the program I'm using, or if it's me. But I would like to say its the program the most, (Graphics Gale), I can partly recolor sprites tho, but its hard with that program, I heard paint .net is good. *looks around on google*

Personally I do everything in GIMP. I just find it better then everything, beside the fact I haven't learned how to use textures in it(if it's even possible).

+ Door Objectset
+ Metal Trees :D
Improved Navi Comp
+Bio Tank

Wow, no offence but as i'm not very active on these forums (something which I aim to correct soon) i don't know people very well, so as i saw your post, I thought "another n00b with a crappy tileset" But with that in mind, i saw these tilesets and was very surprised! With a few more tiles, maybe an autotile or 2, a bit of spit and polish (more advanced shading) and you've got yourself a very nice tileset! Remember Inquests world map certainly wasn't built in a day ^^

I am another noob with a crappy noob tileset. Well I know the shading principles my problem is applying them to tilesets. I can do sprites, but tilesets seem to be a bit(ch) different.

Anyway, I add some more stuff, and a new screenshot that shows a different use of the tileset. Also the floor pieces for the windows are character sets, which I'll soon add if they haven't already self updated in the Object Sets.

It's a good beginning, and most great RPG systems start with good beginnings. What's great about people doing their own custom jobs is, everyone's custom projects will have different interpretations as to how everything should look. Which translates to greater variety and better accolades for RMXP itself.

Acknowledge tha J!

It would be really nice to see games without the RTP tilesets. Even if mine or amateur and may be an eye soar it's something new ;)

Damn you! This has inspired me to make a Sci-Fi game now... Well, better make one I guess.
Oh do so! We need more futuristic games around this community. Especially if it doesn't contain KNight Blade graphics XD.

Another Good Job.....You've got very experience in spriting....Congrat....

st4y c00l....
Ah, I'm hardly what you call "experienced" in spriting. I do it for my own selfish reasons :P

I must say, that metal tree looks slightly out of place.
It seems a bit down too far, but aside from that err I don't know.

Thanks for the commemts. I'll continue my work. ;)
