WIP- First sprite ever... besides my rm2k ones

Any c&c is allowed. I know most of the errors with the first view. I know he's missing the boots but I want to focus on one thing at a time.

You should save sprites as .png format. When you save a .jpg the image gets compressed and you get "dust" that makes it blurry. You'll also probably get a white halo around the sprite when you try to import it into rmxp.
I can't really comment on the shading since it's blurry, but I think the hair needs to be lighter and you'll want to shade his forehead where the hair is.
You may also want to switch over to the revised template before you get too far along. It has more defined muscles that make it easier to figure out where to shade.

Thanks for the template. I searched everywhere for it but couldn't find what I was looking for. I know that the shading on the head hasn't been done. As for the exporting to .jpg, I only did that for a preview. I still have the photoshop file saved somewhere else for when I do the final.

As for the white halo, that didn't happen. In fact, the white halo didn't appear at all in any of the slides. You just can't save the file a second time after opening the .jpg file. If you open the .jpg and save it a second time, you lose color data. I took an entire class on that stuff so trust me, I know.

If you want, I'll post a .png when I get home.

Never, ever save pixel art as a jpg; it blurs the pixels you so carefully placed. The thing looks okay aside from that, but I can't really tell because of the quality loss.
