WIP Big Mech - help!

Hey, I've been lurking round these forums, admiring your works, for a while now and been motivated to get back into spriting. Unfortunatly I came onto a stumbling block; I'm very uncertain how to shade metal on a large scale.

Here's what I've done so far:

Well, if you take a look at this, you will see that you're not going to want any specular highlights. With that sort of metal, it's basically just going to be light or dark. You'll notice that only on the sharpest of curves can you notice a gradation of light. For the most part, each of the plates of metal will have on 'shade of light', so to speak. Only the arms and shoulder pads are probably going to have different shades.
