Welp I wanted to try my hand at something new so I came up with the idea of a "Beetle Knight"... It was orginally supposed to be used for a certain kingdom for my game, but now as I look at it more I don't know if it really fits nicely with my game. Personally I think he's a bit too modern looking, but I dunno. Anyways provided here are two different versions of the Beetle Knight, one with shield and one without... Which do you prefer, and why? Thanks in advance, everyone.

What kind of shading method is that?

It looks very nice and clean. Reminds me of Reptile from mortal combat.

it look like pillow but its not pillow its very good though just dont use pure black for the sheild

hmm...
I dunno, that's a nice pilow shade, really...
altho pillow shade never meant for armor, since armor supposed to be shiny and have a different kind of shading (it's the reason why I never sprite armor...)

yeah a bit of pillow shading, but I think you need more contrasting shades on the thigh buards in the front.because it looks completely flat. Good work though.

Alrighty, tired revamping the look of the Beetle Knight, I didn't like the holy-crap-it's-Reptile-from-MK look ^_^;

Anyways I also tried shading the flat regions u mentioned Berserker, I think I did a lil better....

the top of the boots and the black band in the helmet should be curved down more making an elipse (like you've done for the belt)
I would probably also lower the helmet so that we can see less of the forehead.
The highlight on the armor I'd like to see more on the top of the breastplace like a ring of highlight, rather than in the middle.

Holy crap, it's been a damn loooooong while! Decided to redo the Beetle Knight today at work. As with all of my old WIP's I am revamping them with my cel shade look. Also updated first post....

Looks great! I must say, I am a fan of your stuff because it reminds me of my stuff (I'm not vain, I am QUAID! ). It's like ... got a cartoon feel to it and i LOVE that when it comes to stuff like this. On a professional point of view, though ... I don't really know how it would come across, But i sure as hell like it!
