Just playing around with some colors and defining forms right now. As for now, im pleased. What do you think?

I like it. The blocking is excellent. Your style regrettably uses black outlines, which I'm not a fan of in pixel art, but the rest of the palettes are incredibly attractive.

You don't see too many older, non-white/non-japanese charas in RPGs and I think that's freaking awesome that you are using them; such a much-deserved break in the mold.

ok, now getting into some detail here. Working the forms into something actually eye pleasing. The black outlines are only temp until i get the shapes defined the way i like them.

One real problem: Proportions..

He needs more head on the top, or his whole face needs to squish down lower. Your eyes fall at Approximately the center of the front of your head, his are WAY too high. But what it really is is he needs more Forehead and probably a hair line. If u want to keep him baled, allot more top-head.

You really do pixel render well though.

It's very good. The dithering is a little strong for me, though. Just personal preference.

He looks a little like he's pursing his lips now that I look at it (they need to be slightly wider ... width-wise).

Otherwise, I give a thumbs-up emphatically :'D

my only real gripe with it now is his hair looks like it's pasted to the side of his head rather then coming out of his cap, and also, there's no shadow cast by his chin on his neck so it looks like his neck is coming out of his chin rather than from behind it. It's good work though otherwise, keep it up. (and fix the goggles on your other guy ;D)

Nice work... I think I have to learn dithering soon enough for my isometric cityscapes
