Windows 7 (ANSWERED)

To anyone who would know, I am thinking of getting a new computer, and I as of this moment in time, I don't know if the windows program will be Vista or Windows 7. If RPG Maker XP has had difficulties with Vista, would either Maker VX or XP have problems with Windows 7? Just curious.

I have Windows 7 and it has no problems at all with the VX or the XP vyersions of RPG Maker, just run them in compatibility for Windows XP(Service Pack 2).

I am not too sure if it has problems with Vista.

RMXP will run XP, Vista, and 7. It will also run on either 32 or 64 bit versions of each.
I have personally tested each and everyone of them, and they all work.

There is an extra step or two that you need to do with Vista and higher, which I'm not going into since it has been asked and answered all over the internet 1,000,000 times since the release of Vista. But to answer your question, you will be fine, no worries.

I have win7 64bit; rpgmaker works but I noticed a 10sec lag opening a game to play compared to my old laptop. Very annoying when play testing. That might just be my computer thou.
There was one game on the forums that wouldn't play for 64bit users, but most games play fine on it.

I recently heard of someone having a similar issue. I personally do not have it, but I believe it has something to do with playing audio due to his issue.

Just as a test, set it so that the title screen plays no BGM, and see if it starts faster.
