Why doesn't Nintendo have a compilation game?

We have 'Midway Arcade', 'Namco Museum', Mega Man collections, Sonic, Sega Genesis collections.. You'd figure Nintendo, who loves to recycle the same characters over and over, would have made a compilation of Marios, Kirbies, DKs, etc.. Really, wouldn't it be awesome?

By what the above poster has said, they have a few. You should also notice that older games where being remade onto other platforms such as the GBA and DS. Though, they definitely need more compilations and not just re-releases.

Mario all Stars = SNES
We're big boys now, and we play with high powered, 4GB RAM, 2 billion Frame-per-second, HIGH definition machines. I REQUIRE A 24KB, 32 colors, 8-BIT GAME TO PLAY ON SAID MACHINE.

srsly

Does Nintendo know that people are making compilations like this, or what? They can't possibly know about another opportunity to cash in on the same Mario games AGAIN, and not be doing it.

Nintendo has always been a company that doesn't exploit the current "fad" other console makers go through. They have been practicing this since they first came out with the US NES console back in 1985.

Primary example: They have a family-based rating for most of their games as other companies just simply shove as much blood and gore in as possible to draw a specific demographic. Nintendo does the opposite by producing games that are aimed for everyone. This eliminates the need of parental permissions when purchasing most of their games from stores (even though most stores nowadays don't enforce this rule). It also puts protective parent's minds at ease when they see the comparisons in environment (Nintendo vs. Sony vs. Microshit). This is viewed as a very smart marketing strategy in the competitive game industry.

I'm sure they are quite aware of the situation as far as compilations go. I do believe they did it with Zelda on GC. Maybe they will eventually put out another Mario comp. in the near future.

They do know, they just charge you per title in the shop channel on wii...

was joking, d00d

And I forgot about that Zelda compilation. That thing was awesome. I remember selling it for a considerable amount of money.

I still have mine. ^_^ Bought it from Ebay for about $25, and I love it.

Anyways, would you rather a whole bunch of older games, or a brand-new game? Nintendo is mostly concentrating on making new games, because a new game is more attractive to most people than an older set of games with dated graphics.

OFF-TOPIC: Sadly, this is partly why there will be no FF7 remake...maybe.

Doesn't Super Smash Bros. Brawl class as a compilation game?

I mean, it does have all the characters including old ones from the NES like Kid Icarus and I think maybe even Sonic...

No, there's no FF7 remake because Square Enix is starting to realize "HAI. NOONE LIKES FF7 ANYMORE."

I like it still...But really, it was just an off-topic point. I'd love a remake, but it's just not gonna happen...maybe sometime in the future, when the game is older.

I would love to see a kirby compilation set. I truely miss playing The Great Cave Offensive in Superstar. The cartridge doesn't work anymore....

More like "Nomura: Sorry, guys. I'm working on KH3, FFvsXIII, and other crap (like the 10 year FFVII crap)ATM. By the time I'm done, Kitase and a quarter of the crew who did FFVII will already be doing that FFVI remake (yay) for DS (More yay)."

But Your quote was almost right.

I have that Zelda one Comp., with Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Zelda 5, Zelda 6, The WW demo, and those 2 movies. Wasn't there going to be another one? I wish I had LTTP, or LA again =(, although I almost beat it on my SNES again... but my snes is like "Yo, I'm not going to save your game. Insted, I'm going to save it over a game I have no idea what it is. This looks good.. "FINAL FANTASY III(VI)." This also looks good "Super Mario World."
