White Bird

White Bird is an album that I've been working on for a little over 2 months. It's been slow-going because of how busy I've been at home and at work, but it's finally done. At 58 minutes and 42 seconds, it's a near-full-length album, though it only has 10 tracks (2 bonus included).

This album contains 2 older songs that I decided mid-way to include: Falling Stars, and Dreams We Forget. This album also contains 2 "bonus" tracks, Sleeping Giants and Distant Lands, which are not publicly available for download, and may only be found in the album download.

This album is comprised of mostly piano solo music with some contemporary jazz and light string sections sprinkled throughout. The songs range from chill out lounge music to soft, easy-listening piano, and include both newer and older piano pieces.

The inspiration behind this album was, of course, the journey of a small white bird. However, what many people may not have caught was that it wasn't literally about this white bird, though a lot of the inspiration came from the idea. The white bird is symbolic for any given person who starts out small on a journey through this large world. This album is about the experiences that person has, from nervously but bravely starting their journey, to meeting new friends, to seeing new and wonderful things, to arriving back home.

As always, enjoy!

I just downloaded and though I don't have time to listen to the entire thing right now, I took a short listen through all of the songs and I can already tell it's a really great album (which is what I expected, of course). =)

The piano is really beautiful as always with your songs, and the two bonus tracks are great as well--I especially like Distant Lands and the ethnic feel you gave it with the voices and flute. I'm sure I'll be keeping these songs playing over and over again as I work on the computer. ^^ Keep up all the great work!

Love it.
The entire album has a nice classical sound to it.
My favorite track has to be Night Flight.
The other don't fall behind either. They're all
great.

Cool. Yeah, that one was one I almost forgot I did, actually. I recorded it late one night, saved, and shut down the computer. A few weeks later I found it, untitled, and purposed it. lol

EDIT: By the way, your sig is funny. I almost gave up on clicking "Show". 57 spoiler tags is a lot...

:( Awww, now I gotta go put more in... :P

I'm downloading at the moment, but are these tracks to be used in peoples games, or are they solely for listenings sake? You just haven't stated that in your first post.

As with most of down tempo piano pieces, this is a relaxing album to listen to. I can't help but feel how lonely the track Night Flight is and how sad the others are. There is definitely room for improvement, for example did your encoding to 160k mp3 format give that low fi sound or were the tracks low fi to begin with? The static noise does add to the ambiance, though.

samboy: Some of it would be suitable for in-game use, but mostly this is just for listening-sake.

JanitorGod: I'm not sure where you're hearing anything lo-fi or any static... Unless it was something I just completely did not hear when I recorded all of the pieces. I suspect that perhaps one or both of the older piano pieces may have been recorded using my older equipment, which may have lead to flaws in the recording. But 160 Kbps is pretty standard for MP3 versions of songs.

Your music always suprises me, they always make me want to draw:D

I love For anne and i can't leave ;)

This is album is also beautiful, like all your stuff :D
Keep it up!

Hey Dave, quite the impressive release you have here. My personal favorite would be, "Distant Lands". It has a speck of hip hop in it, and it keeps a steady rythm for the most part. Anyway, nice work on this one.

Awesome.... you really got talent.
the all album was well thought. It really did make me feel like a white bird journey. And its SO professional. its kinda like the animatrix songs for theyre small stories. I love it. I love it. I love it. I so Tottaly love it !!

This is a little bit belated (since I've downloaded this to listen a few weeks ago), but you've got a great collection of songs here. The concept behind it is interesting, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a story developped around the music as opposed to the traditional music made around the story.

Great job! :)
