Which project should I be working on?

Portal of Darkness {Original Work}
Currently has quite a bit of work done on it, but needs a lot more work (To see progress, check sig.)
COMPLETED

Runescape XP {Clone}
A clone of runescape; has a little bit of work done on it...

Night of Fear {Original Game}
Hasn't even been started, need a lot of custom made tilesets, characters, etc.

Quest of Adventurers {Clone}
A clone of a game I like. Hasn't really been started, and would need some massive scripting and such.

See I voted for Portal of Darkness, clones of games are always a bad idea in my opinion. They require way too much work and aim at a fairly small game, a off-shoot/fangame idea is perfectly fine with me though and I feel some of the best games on these forums are fangames, though again you do get the vast majority of bad ones.

Its not really up to us which project you should carry on with but you should work on what you enjoy more, this way the final product will be far better and more enjoyable for others to play. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Um if you want to make a pretty much custom runescape you can do that easily with some simple java code and the original runescape or runescape 2 source codes. I'm sure it would turn out much better than some RM clone.
Moparscape.com is where you should start if you've never used Java & C++ before.
I had some fun with that Even made some money off of it, people are so desperate for staff spots :P

I think I just saw you having 2 illegal stuff shown, like the PK edition and about this Moparscape, I think you should get rid of this illegal habit.

Teengamer, you sound EXACTLY like my friend, he calls himself a gamer and wants to make clones of games... :shock:

Just work on your POD you are doing... don't switch.

I'm voting Portal of Darkness too. You have come this far working on it, so why not see it through? Two of your other options have not even been started, and the third is only just off the ground, so I'd say work on what is nearest to completion, then when you're done with that, go back and look at the other three for a follow-up project.

I'd say Night of Fear. Clone games usually don't turn out very well, and Portal of Darkness doesn't seem all that good to me. The story is a big cliché, and 2 hours of gameplay is ridicilous, really. Even for an RPG Maker XP game, you should aim for 5 hours of gameplay at least.

And another piece of advice: Pick one and ditch the others, at least for now. You can't concentrate on a project if you're busy with three others.

Then I recommend you to move on to Night of Fear. As mentioned above, clone remakes aren't the best thing to do with RPG Maker.
