Which is better?

I got bored, and redesigned my game's main character but I can;t decide if I should use the new one.

Can you guys tell me what you think?

I choose the right. It has lesser but sufficient detail. If you like, there can be minimal details for:

lesser time for spriting
simpler look

i think simpler designs work best for NPCs or characters you don't want steeling the show... so there for i chose the left. but to each his own. which one do you like best Mr Ishbuu?

The new one seems a bit cluttered to me. I like the simplicity of the old one. I think it could look great with a few more details.

The one on the left has more detail, looks like an emo. It also has cooler hair (dark hair is good hair). Is that a scarf that's pointing to the left? It looks a bit strange. Maybe if you made it point down. Anyways, they're tons cool. You should make a resource pack or something.

The old. Looks less gothic and I just like simple designs more anyway.

Of course if he's supposed to be gothic, go right ahead.
