What's Your Favorite Music Genre!

My mates and I were having a discussion on music preferences and I seemed to be at odds with the group. Most of my friends are into like metal/screemo while I'm more into electro/house. So this has sparked my interest as to what .Org's music preference is!

I'll start 'er off then:

As stated above I'm deep into the electro scene. I'm a sucker for the hard bass which makes my head swing off the rocker. Some of my personal favorite artists would probably be Fake Blood (skip to 1:00), The Bloody Beetroots, SebastiAn, The Proxy, along with classics like Daft Punk and Justice.

So .Org, what floats your euphoric boat?
(I would create a poll but I'm afraid to miss an important genre and I don't want that to simply fall under 'Other')

I like classic rock
swinging from light country-ish to hard verging on metal. I'm also a sucker for British Art Rock.

I don't really have a favourite genre, nor can I say I like every song from one genre. If I like a song I will listen to it, regardless of what imposed genre it falls into. If it's a shit song then it's a shit song, plain and simple.

I wouldn't really call Metallica and Rammstein heavy-metal,
I like both of them a ton, and I have a personal disdain for metal....
Metallica is more of Classic-Metalish things.... :blank: (In fact its played on all Classic Hard Rock Stations)
and Rammstein is not metal, its what the germans call The New German Hard (something like that), it has a totally different vocal style from metal

Actually Velo, according to wiki, Metallica ARE heavy-metal, well, it's more like heavy/thrash-metal, lol, and Rammstein are "Neue Deutsche Härt", which is German industrial metal apparently, lol

fuck wikipedia, it claims that it claims you can be an agnoistic theist (contradiction). IMO, id rather trust my ears, these music sorters ain't too good at it, iTunes for example claims Ride The Lightning is Metallica's only thrash metal album, when imo, its their softest (and my favorite)

lolno. The first four albums were thrash. :wink: After that, they got into hard rock & recently, heavy.

Favourite music genre? Probably old-school death metal (Death, Morbid Angel, Vader, Possessed, Nile), thrash metal(early Metallica, early Megadeth, Exodus, Anthrax, Slayer) and (mostly Norwegian) black metal(Darkthrone, Mayhem, Burzum, Satyricon, Emperor)

All types of rock is great for me. I don't really like any specific kind but I love Nu Metal. I usually listen to Thousand Foot Krutch, Linkin Park and Three Days Grace.

I also listen to quiet, soft music when I feel like it. I listen to Japanese songs but no specific artists; just anything that I come across. But recently I have been listening to much rock music, more than soft music anyways.

- Poser who make some catchy music (Bring me the horizon, bullet for my valentine, etc...)

They're not exactly the most hated genre's ever, lol... if anything, Happy Hardcore is, or Uprising, that stuff is TERRIBLE...

Metallica is trash metal, they are one of the four bands who created that genre of music (together with anthrax, slayer and megadeath).

Rammstein is industrial metal, though they used there music tanz metal, which can be seen as a sub genre of industrial metal. Still, forget about genres. I only have favorite music, not favorite genres.

My favourite music genre are acoustic rock, alternative rock, street hip hop, sometimes classical music, preferably Mozart, Beethove, Debussy and Chopin and also the music of Mother Nature.

Likes:

• Classical music, but particularly the melodic classical and less of the symphonic and orchestratic musics. Something with clear melody and isn't trying to pain a picture in your head
  Melodic Death Metal. Melody is clear, and complex styles are used
  The Good J-Pop: beat, good singing, lots of styling
  Hard Rock: Something a bit alternative, but not too far
  Gaming music: particularly j-rpg music and the Black Mages
  Some French melodies: the porte plume is a perfect example of what I like
  Softer, light music. Hania for reference.
  Symphonic metal
  Some Rap/hip hop: nothing hard and blatantly mass produce
  Trance and Psychedelic
  Irish Folk music
  
  I also prefer female singers, but it's not a must

Dislikes:

  lots of what could be considered mainstream, apparently.

I love hip hop, and I don't really care for rap, (There is a difference), I guess it's because I'm getting to old.

But I really love RnB since I'm a songwriter and a singer at heart, which means I can't sing therefore I am force to write for people who can.

I swear if I could sing my cutty intake would immediately double.

I mean seriously, every black person I know loves hip hop and R&B, although most of them like rap too, so you'd be considered an outcast to them, lol.

On topic now, I'll listen to almost anything provided it's not some terrible terrible song created with eJay or FruityLoops with a vocal track attached, seriously, that's why I like metal so much, because the music is REAL, infact fuck it, metal IS music, you make music with instruments in my opinion D:
