What kind of skills do you possess/do not possess?

We all have some sort of skill. Something that takes us through these difficult times. We utilize these skills for our everyday tasks. Are you a crafter, making things that other people enjoy and utilize? Or perhaps your skills lie in your knowledge of things, and utilizing that knowledge to make your or another person's life better. Maybe you're an organizer, someone who takes information and organizes it into a presentable format for all to enjoy and peruse at their leisure. There are numerous ones I didn't mention, and I want to know about them. Or maybe you suck at things. We all do. Please, tell us about your inability to make a sandwich without the kitchen exploding, or your piss-poor financial situation. We're here to help. Or laugh, as the situation permits.

What are your skills? What do you suck at?


My skills lie in my knowledge, and my ability to pick out fine details. I have a general desire to know things, and I have a tremendous ability to learn, adapt, and retain information. I'm lazy as hell, though, and I always take the easiest route through a situation. What about you?

I'm really good at reading people in real life. I can generally tell who someone is in the first few minutes I meet them. Going online screwed me up at first because I couldn't do that, but I'm starting to learn who people are on this medium, too.

I fail at using programs, though. I've had mIRC for a few months now and I'm still learning how to do a lot of stuff. I guess I have a slow learning curve for new interfaces. :P

I pride myself in my ability to stay on task and really get into what I'm doing, especially with things like chemistry and physics. I work hard at most things I do and am a fast learner. I pick uip new skills really quickly and do well in a wide array of subject areas, and try and approach things with a logical point of view. I have realistic expectations of others and my future, and have a high tolerance for criticism, something I find most people my age don't. I also enjoy helping others out and I rarely back out of promises to others.

However, I'm distracted really easily. My desire to learn everything there is to know in as short an amount of time as possible makes me a very scatterbrained guy, so often my thoughts are incoherent and don't flow very well. I also get frustrated with myself easily (I'm a perfectionist) and with things like art especially, I'm prone to have panic attacks because I'm not living up to my own insanely high expectations. I'm also a worrywart, not very motivated most of the time, and lazy. :p

I am highly logical and think things throug before doing anything. I have a high amount of natural skill on computers, I can cook rather well and I am highly imaginative. Everything else though.....I get by on luck (which I have an abundance of). I am highly tolerant and I have a skin so thick if it dressed in a hoodie you would mistake it for a chav. I am a lone wolf most of the time however. I merely dislike groupes rather than not work well in one. I am very lazy too and would rather waste away the days playing oblivion (Morrowind till I get my 360 for Christmas) than "do" anything other than rpgxping. I have a badsense of humour and most of my jokes are crap. Well thats me.

i'd say these are my skills (though the levels of them are mostly decent at best):

- repairing/building/maintaining furniture, appliances, etc (misc home improvement)

- drawing, graphic arts, design

- being good with animals and, to a lesser extent, plants

- writing

- acting, camerawork, editing, directing (misc amateur filmmaking)

- driving (outside of an accident that wasn't my fault, i've never had any infractions--i'm also pretty adroit at steering, maneuvering, etc)

- cooking

- shooting (guns)

- polishing knobs

- whistling



what am i bad at?

- anything involving leg dexterity (i.e. most sports, athletics)

- throwing or catching :x

- coding

- math math math math math math

- saving money

- following commands (i dont mind when people ASK me to do things, but being ORDERED to do them usually just makes me want to procrastinate/rebel)

- doing anything that doesn't have a set duedate (otherwise i procrastinate forever)

- snapping my fingers

- dancing (make that REAL bad)
