Simple question:

What's your screen resolution?

- Vote for the resolution for the screen you use most.

- If you use 2+ monitors, only note the res of one of them.

- If you use 2+ monitors with different resolutions, vote for the one with the lowest.

- If your monitor is a non-standard size or a resolution not listed, vote the closest one.

- If you use different monitors at work or school, if you have a laptop, etc ... Vote the res you use most or prefer most and post your res's here.

Awesome Bro

Well I use 1920x1080, however, my screen is able to go all the way up to 2560x1440, I just don't use that since, damn it makes everything so small, although games look shit hot, but meh, 1920x1080 is fine for me.

1920x1200 just seems weird, I don't get 16:10 monitors, I mean, with me it's either 4:3 or 16:9, 16:10 just seems out of place, like the ones (Forgot the ratio) that are vertical, y'know, they just look like you've got a widescreen and tipped it on its side, I don't get them whatsoever, they're odd.

pff like i'm gonna do maf's on the fly.

idg vertical monitors either for the most part but i like that mine @ home can be rotated at will --it's easier to use Flash with a vertical interface if you put the timeline over the stage.

i'm so used to my 16:10 that 16:9's actually look a bit strange to me. its just w/e you get used to really

Yeah that's kindof annoying. I'd rather open the program and realise why it won't fit than it specifically not let me open it. I'm used to working out weird toolbar positions on a netbook!

Bah, I gave up maths when I took it up as an A-level.

Lol I haven't done any maths since GCSE which was 2 years ago, but things like that are easy lol, maybe it's because I was actually good at maths since I started school, yet when GCSE came I couldn't be arsed anymore, didn't listen in lessons or do work, and didn't take the exam paper seriously, yet I still got a C, although I was predicted A* lol.

My dad wanted to use my nan's 42'' tv as a pc monitor. Given that it's high definition "1080p", what res would this give do you reckon? I don't know these things :x I'm guessing 1440x1080 but idk

Ah, ok.

It would be cool to have a huge PC monitor but really at that resolution it's just upscaling the pixels rather than having more room. It would be cool if going from a 20'' to a 40'' monitor gave you 4x the actual pixel space.

1080p = progressive scan; the # refers to the number of horiz. scanlines ("vertical resolution").

1080i = interlaced; it's actually two 1920 x 540 images interlaced into looking like it's 1080 horiz. scanlines high.

likewise for 720p and 480p if you see them; number just is referring to horizontal scanlines. doesn't matter the size of the screen.

(this is referring to televisions. for lcd monitors it's a different story)

Lol yeah, mine is 1080i (HDTV not monitor), although to be fair, you can hardly see scanlines on bigger screens, or atleast, I can't anyway, although on my PSP (Only occurs in PSP-3000 model due to the screens they're using) you can see scanlines everywhere, even if you try not to notice them, once you see them you can't unsee them, but shit that screen has an amazing colour pallette and makes all games look beautiful.

oh also the info on ratios up there in the voting deal are off; i was kind of cut+paste happy.

most notably, 1280 x 1024 is 5:4 and 1280 x 960 is 4:3.
oops poops.
