What happened with the old RMXP VIP?

Back then there were some members of RPG Maker forums who were kind of popular, you know by the games, resources, scripts, communities they had made or participated in.

People like Dubealex, ccoa, SephirothSpawn, NearFantastica, Lord_Gradient, trickster, etc.

I'd like to know what happened with them or with the people you consider that was popular or influential within the RMXP community, where are they now, their job, if they keep with game development, I don't know what else!

It depends who's special enough I guess. There are plenty of folk from the start of .org still around making RPG Maker stuff and other gamemaking. Others have moved on to work for games companies or just stopped doing it altogether. I may be talking out of my arse, but we remember these people because they were the best around at the time, but plenty of better stuff has been done since then, it's just now less unexpected and more normal.

I don't know where any of those mentioned are tbh, other than ccoa who might still browse Spongen? But I think that site is more friends socialising than game making.

I remember SephirothSpawn came back at one stage for a grand total of a day or so, but since then, haven't seen any of them.

Ah, what a list. I guess I never was important enough to be remembered, but those peeps...well, really they contributed things that touched everyone that was here. I can think of some other names though...well, the pixel artist coming to mind was Satana (I think that was her name...).

I don't even know who's popular now. What's happening, RPG makers?

Everyone uses your tileset through. They just don't know your name or have the sample maps to know how to assemble everything.

I suspect that it's a result of everyone being really quite dickish back then (I know I was) - people rebrand themselves to get away from their past self. Reading my old posts is a bit of a kick in the backside and reminds me not to be a Terrible Person. I don't doubt that most people feel the same about theirselves 15 years ago and would rather forget that.

Reading my old posts is a bit of a kick in the backside and reminds me not to be a Terrible Person. I don't doubt that most people feel the same about theirselves 15 years ago and would rather forget that.
