Well... I made a Wallpaper

Ok... so heres the story, a friend of mine asked if I could make them a wallpaper for their computer.
Seeing as I plan to get in to computer aided design and eventually animation after I finish up with basic schooling, I figured needed the practise so why not...

Anyways he wanted a black background with a flame or a fireball in the middle and the transmutation circle seen on Roy Mustang's gloves in the anime Full Metal Alchemist in the midle of the fire.

Im not too good at this sort of thing but I think it turned out pretty good, concidering im a beginner...
Full size is 1600x900 so its pretty huge...

yup, that's a pretty good fireball effect you got going on there. only thing I'd do is make the flame a bit higher in the middle (flames tend to be high in the middle), or slightly shifted to a side (to avoid the total symmetry you got going on now). also, the actual transmutation circle is a bit dull, I suggest giving that some kind of glow effect, with some sparkles or something, to make it more flashy.

Yeah Ive realised about the flame. I used a tutorial on DeviantArt cause I didnt really know what to do and it always gives symetrical flames... But I might be able to play around with it yet to get a better result.

Also I wasnt to sure what to do with the circle, but yeah it is a bit dull...
I will looking into doing something with it.

Lastly the link youve given me there wont show me an image, do i need to sign up to something?

Yeah I can see that one.
White with a red glow does look good, but Im not sure, Ive made this one red because when it is used in the anime it is red on a white background. But I could still make it glow rather than have it bland...

O.o that looks so cool, man. I'm not diggin' the four dots around the flame, though. It kind of stresses the simplicity of it. But it looks freakin' sweet nonetheless.

Yeah the dots are annoying, its because the flame is made by editing the lens flare thing photoshop can do by default and then because the final result is symetrical its mirrors them.....
Anyway im gona do another one when I have some spare time, try make a non symetrical flame and add some sort of effect to the circle.

Oh, wow Samot, thats a much better flame than I did...
And the circle doesnt look bad being white with a red glow either...

I am going to try again myself with the whole as soon as I have time.
I just need to work on the top of the flame, I was useless at that...

o hahaha, yesterday I just erased those four dots, but the sun was shining on my monitor, so I couldn't see a thing..
those sure turned out shitty.. :p

Yeah I think all you really have to do for flames is, once you have the colors, just go to Liquify and hit the Smudge tool.
