Weird WoW error :S

Awesome Bro

As some of you know, I ave recently made the mistake of buying WoW for my laptop. In doing so I've been playing as much as i can and I'm currently a level 6 Night elf. Cool!

Anyway, my point ...

I came to a quest that required me to venture into a place with two a's ... umm ... barandaar or something and i ended up being bombarded by these level 7 or 8 pig looking things. As i ran away i came to a cliff edge and i fell off, in doing so my death came and my spirit started wandering. Now ...

I died in a place that my spirit CANNOT reach. It's completely impossible for me to reach my body unless this same (what appears to be) glitch happens again. And believe me, the path back to the top of this cliff isn't short (About 20 minutes :|)

I was going to pay that big angel thing to revive me, But I'm not sacrificing the durability of my items for the sake of a glitch that isn't my fault. Fuck THAT!

I've submitted a support ticket to the online GM thing but it's saying "Wait time unavailable" Even though it says they're available 24 hours a day 7 days a week o.o.

Any ideas as to what i can do? I'm getting a bit pissed off.

The GM is going to tell you to use the Spirit and I am going to tell you the same thing.

You are level 6. Your gear is probably entirely made up of greys and whites. Being a pretty avid WoW player, I have levelled dozens of characters through the low level ranges. Gear is -not- important. The only gear worth snot is green or better. Anything that is white or grey might as well be sold to a vendor as soon as you get it, to have money for food/water to level faster.

Just use the spirit and get over it.

"Wait Time Unavailable" means that they can't estimate how much time it will take until your ticket gets served. This is likely due to either a high load of tickets, or an extremely low load.

Agreed with Prexus. Although, I've never tried the Auto-Unstuck thing while dead; would it do anything?

And by the way, jumping off the NE starting island = win.

It's all resolved now. I was going back towards the cliff edge one more time in hope of catching my body, but i was revived before i even got there. They just revived me without using the spirit in respect of the glitch etc etc. I know the items don't mean anything (I didnt before you posted) but the fact of the matter is I'm paying to play this game and I'm not going to put up with ANYTHING that goes on. If things go wrong, I expect compensation. If they don't do that for me and continue not to for all their customers, Then they're not taking a professional approach.

With a game so large and a server so big I can understand glitches being here and there, problems occuring from all over the place, that's fine. But not when somebody is paying them money to use it and they don't compensate.

Just FYI, if you look at the options for opening a ticket, you'll notice that it states that a GM will assist you if you're unable to reach your body - and this is especially true if you fall through the world. While they plan the terrain well and incorporate things like "your body will be at the edge of a cliff if you fall off the floating islands in Outlands", there's always that freak chance that you'll get stuck somewhere.

GM's will assist when you're stuck and when you can't reach your body, regardless of whether your level and how much it would cost to rez at the spirit healer. The only time they would refuse is if you were too lazy to run back to your corpse but could easily get there.

I've paged GMs when I got stuck in certain spots (like between a wall and a torchlight with no way to jump out - and hearthstone on cooldown) or when I couldn't reach my corpse. They've always been nice :)

Save for after one major content/buggy patch, I've never waited for more than 15 minutes for a GM. I don't page them often, but I can't really complain about the service, since it's been just fine. But ... I also keep up on current problems from the forums and such, so it's extremely rare that I'd page a GM. In fact, I think I've only done it 5 times in a total of almost 2 years of playing.

Funny story ... I did talk to a newbie GM once that tried to make me believe that standing more than 5 yards from a sheeped target in PvE will make me exit combat. He wouldn't take my ticket as a bug report and had to consult his supervisor when I insisted.

(I play on an RP server, btw, though I don't think that makes a difference in GM availability).

Mm, I haven't consulted GMs much neither but a few weeks ago, when Prince bugged out, it took like 4 hours before we got a reply. :/ At which point we already left long ago.

Do GMs on non-RP servers do the funky intros by the way?

Don't know what you're talking about (regular PvP and PvE servers here), so probably not. Then again, haven't spoken to a GM in a while.

Yes, the GMs on Non-RP servers do the funky intros. And they are all based on the race of your character.

I almost always play Gnomes, unless forced to another race, and always get the "For Gnomeregan!" at the end of a discussion with a GM.

GMs are kinda funny, in that they really have -very- limited power, compared to the GMs in EverQuest and Ultima Online.

What do you mean "White and greys"? Do you mean it in a literal sense or is it just a saying?

The name of the armour if it's grey is the worse ones white the normal ones, green the equipments that have effects and purple to blue are rare equipments.So in simple words:

Grey=very common
white=common
green=uncommon
purpletoblue=rare

I think there are more but those are the most equipments i had with my undead rogue lv 33 rogues are my favorites :D

The name of the item can be different colors to indicate the value/rarity.

Gray-colored names are essentially considered vendor junk - they're not useful and you might as well sell them to a vendor for some cash.

White-colored names are either things you can buy from a vendor, or things that are useful in some profession - like flowers or leather.

Green-colored names are considered uncommon, and have stats on them. You usually find them in chests, on corpses and so on (though there are a few vendors that sell them).

Blue-colored names are considered rare. They have more stats than the 'greens' of the same level (and often more of the few levels above). Bosses usually drop items of the blue quality, and you can occasionally find them on random mobs (though this is rare and isn't something to count on). Blues are desirable, so the ones that are bound when equipped sell very well at the auction house.

Purple-colored names are considered epic. (This is what people mean when they talk about 'epix' or when they say someone is 'decked out in epix'). They are extremely rare - often reserved for people who raid or do instances on high difficulty. They are several levels above the blues/greens of the same level.

After that, there's the orange-colored names. For items, it means super-duper-extra-rare. Blizzard meant for it to be something like only a handful of people having the item on your server - though certain of these items became a little more common as people got to level 70.

There are rumors that there are red-colored names that only drop one per server - though no one has even seen one.

As you can probably deduce, repair costs get more expensive as you get more rare items. When you wear white/gray quality items, your repair cost might be something like 15 silver. If someone with mostly epics/blues died in the same spot and had to rez at the spirit healer, they might look at a 15 gold repair bill (or more if they had more than one set of gear on them).

Also ... once you get past level 10, rezzing at the spirit healer afflicts you with resurection sickness which is a non-dispellable debuff lasting 10 minutes. It essentially reduces all your stats down to 10% of their actual value and makes it near right impossible to fight anything around your level or even lower. Also, everyone can see the "corpse of xxxxx" if it's in a visible location until the server restarts on Tuesday. It can be funny, but mostly people just find it inconvenient.

Haha, even more proof that WoW sucks! ^^

What? I bet you play runescape or lineage 2, don't even say that again.

I found some sites that said that Red were removed because they were too powerful and some said they were GM equipment only. I am not sure if that is true, or if they ever existed thought

To what lunarea said in addition there are some shops that sell equipments with their name in blue they are usually near an instance or a pvp entrance.

Just going back on topic. Isn't there a button you can press if your body get's stuck? You don't even need to contact a GM. Or atleast there was when I played it...

There's a "stuck" button if you get stuck in a location that you can't move or jump out of. It'll essentially use your hearthstone to port you back. But you can't use it while dead, nor does it move your corpse to a friendlier location. As far as I know, a GM has to manually move your corpse to the top of the cliff (if, for example, you died half-way there).

No, I do not play runescape or lineage2.
Imo WoW just sucks because it's such a boring game, and it costs so much. As much as I've played it, the community is horrible also. Quests are so confusing, and no one ever helps you out.
Also... the battle skill effects etc are just lame.
I don't see anything exciting, atleast for me, in that game.

I have a cool mmorpg to play atm and imo it's alot better than WoW.
