web hosting plans

looking for a new web host.

(hbgames is hosted by The Computer Guy Hosting, which is totally fine for this site's needs, but my personal site's needs are a little different.)

my demands will be small. it will mainly be a portfolio gallery, with a dump for random things I feel like uploading.
possibly small-scale e-commerce in the future but that will wait.

what i am looking for:

• up to $10/month. the cheaper, the better.
  
  
• preferably: free domain name registration (up to $15/yr if necessary.)
  
  
• preferably: cpanel 11+
  will also work with webmin 1.5+ if it means cheaper hosting.
  
  
• linux OS
  
  
• minimum of 10 mysql (x1gb) databases +phpmyadmin (duh)
  
  
• php5 support + java language support (php5 is everywhere but it seems like java support is rather optional in many places)
  
  
• dedicated IP
  (may use ssl in the future which is the only reason i care ... so also SSL secure server too.)
  
  
• i'd mention space + xfer amounts, but ... it seems like everyone offers unlimited?? which i am skeptical about. i wouldn't need very much anyway.
  
  
• catch-all email address
  (idk if this is a commonality. but it's one of the few things i'd actually use.)

anyway it seems like most people offer these things but just wanted to know if anyone has any they want to share.


for me right now its a toss-up between iPage, Web Hosting Pad, JustHost ... but i'd rather other info than the first few pages of google hits. can't trust that shit

oh awesome man i appreciate it. i can never fucking tell what website is going to just be an elaborate advertisement or an actual board with unbiased opinions on this shit

www.one.com is cheap and awesome, definitly check it out. It costs about 25 dollars a year and you get A LOT in return. If i remember correctly it comes with only 1 Mysql database, but you can use if for different projects at once.

There's also versio.nl it costs me 12 euros a year for domain name + webspace, but it's located in holland so not the best choice for american customers.

(ps, i'm a professional web designer and i use these two hosts for my customer's projects)
