Okay, lol. You're close.
The self switch works exactly like a regular switch, but it ONLY affects that event, making it simpler. At the top of the event page, you need to click "new page" Then, on this page, under "conditions" you need to check the self switch box and set it to A. That way, if this event's self switch A is on, then this page is activated. So it won't EVER play the last page again, UNLESS you turn the self switch off. Make sense yet? On the second page you'll want to put something like.... "Good luck, hero! See you around." That way, it won't seem wierd to hear him say it over and over if the player keeps talking to him.
By the way..... Wasn't I working on the cutscene AFTER sleeping in the inn? lol how did you get the gold to sleep in the inn?? It seems that I start out broke. XD
