waterfall problem

hey, i was trying to make a waterfall but it stumped me. i know 'how' but i dont know "how". the mountain waterfall autotile just doesnt seem to merge with the water... the water doesnt link together with the waterfall. if im making any sense. i left all autotiles the way they were and it just doesnt work for me.

EDIT: if i am not clear enough let me kn ow and i will edit/repost.

i just put them on different levels. like the normal water on level 1 of the editor and the waterfall autotile on level 2. seems to work fine for me. not sure if that is explained well enough, but i am a little tired.

There is actually no need to make it on two layers. you can put everything in layer 1!
First make a cliff.

Then add water over the cliff but still layer 1!

Then add the waterfall in layer one like here:

For a waterfall wich disappears in the depth with the cliff you have to use two layers.
First you make a cliff on layer one and add water and waterfall to it like in the first example.
Then go to the second layer and choose the 2nd waterfall autotile and add it like this:

And as a last point add the third waterfall autotile beneath the just added one also in the 2nd layer:

i have to agree with towel ninja here. i have had this same issue and have used every waterfall autotile imaginable. thats why i just do it on 2 layers. i have always figured it should work on one layer but for the life of me i can never get it to look right and i am not a noob at map making either, so i don't get it.

it has been hurting my brain so bad T_T ive gone through all the autotiles possible and nothing works >.<

please solve this unanswerable riddle for us.':|

He mustn?t use two or more layers

On the top of an autotile picture, there are 3 32x32 Pictures
The Left is the identify-Picture, the middle the compatibly-picture, the right is for inner-corners

Now the trick:

If you put the identify-Picture of the water, as the compatibly-picture of the waterfall autotile, thy fit each...

You can see it here on Page 10:

With that way, you can use every Autotile with every other ^^
