Wanting to make same song for background + battle theme without the song restart

Hi, first time ever posting here >.>
Been working on a project and been trying to make an event (in RPGmaker XP) where i was wanting to have the background theme and battle theme (music) to be the same.. but I don't want the song to restart when the battle starts (cuz of the battle transaction). I know in Rm2k it was possible... but can't quite get it to work on XP. Was wondering if maybe someone knew how to fix this ~_~ thankyou~

And yea that works for that part.. But I'm having issues when the battle starts, the song restarts even if its the same song, and was wondering if there was a way to make it just continue (like in rm2k). I even tried removing the battle start song.. but still restarts :/ maybe it just cant be done in XP ; ;
