Introduction
In response to this awesome script, which I personally think is a bomb, I figured I'd make my own event-based engine on a functionality that gets any RPG Maker game a bit closer to be a really interesting and fun experience. Now the author of mentioned script has already set a high goal to reach for, but I think I actually came up with an even more exiting system that all players should like!

- Custom Equip Menu (though that's scripted, for some stupid reason)

Whatever your opinion of this post might be, please be aware that I mean absolutely no offense by this. Even though it might seem like I'm directing this against the author of previously linked script (who I actually don't really like, for the record), it's actually what I call an "Interactive Critic"... inventive, isn't it? (This actually addresses a few issues in game design really, so without trying to overemphasize this, it could very well be the Rosetta Stone of game design... who knows?)

Terms Of Use
If you're reading this paragraph because you're seriously interested in these terms... ah, what can I say, this line is for you:
Requesting credit for evented systems is most likely bullshit, which potentially increases with rising simplicity of the system. Heck, even requesting credit for the first evented systems back in the days where not everyone was easily able to do something would've been stupid, as all you'Re doing is put pre-made scripts together. In that sense, I can't really forbid you using this, however, I can only advise you not to do so.. for your game's sake.

I feel like I was just violated mentally.

This is the best system ever! Now I'll be able to wait so much more for such great waiting levels.

A first I thought it was an evented wait system like in elder scrolls to increase the time.

I know right, I'm using this in a game right now, it helps the time go by ingame, so like, I can wait for NPCs to walk towards me, or I can wait for the next mesage to appear!

I can even use this sytem to wait for the battle animations to finish!

It's the most flexible event system I've ever used, and it was SO easy to implement, like I forgot to say before, excellent work Blue, you should be proud of this one for years to come!

Well, it was actually somewhat funny.

I have to say...both events and scripts are the foundations of the Enterbrain (XP and later) engine...you can't have either without the other.

You could certainly have scripts without events. It would just make it too hard for most people to use the software.
 
Hey loves, lets get back on topic. This thread has been de-railed long enough. Anyone who posts after this post involving what has been said in the previous posts will be warned. No exceptions. This isnt the place to bicker and bitch at each other. This is a place of critiquing and learning. It stops now.
 
@Miles: You just happened to be the one catching my attention with both your mining event system and the script thread about idle animations, where we had the discussion on wheather it's possible to make an idle event system (which btw I figured would fit so awesomely into this project... I was totally destroyed about me realizing that after uploading :|: ). You just happened to trigger another of my anti-event rants, which this time even resulted in a playable "game", and I kept your name out of everything, as insulting you wasn'T the purpose of this. So, I really meant no offense, plus I wanna drag your attention to yout thread's views, which more than doubled after I poosted this... :thumb:

Well, you might - thanks to the awesome practicability of events - be able to copy&paste events into RMXP. If that doesn't work, you can directly reproduce the responsible Common Event. You wouldn't believe it, but all of this system's functions actually work out of a single Common Event! :biggrin:

In general, I'm glad this could give the one or another person a good laugh (hopefully). Unfortunately, many folks (as kyo) didn't give it a chance (as only 6 out of 85 viewers actually downloaded it)... ah well. The only thing I hope for now is that when Blizzard does decide to destroy the StarCraft universe by making World of StarCraft (just as they destroyed Warcraft), they don't rip off this script and actually use it. I could never forgive myself...

I guess as, how Star put it, the "cat's outta the bag now", this can be locked. I will keep the demo up though, if someone for some reason wants it...
