VX to XP

So your VX project is going great, you have resources, scripts, dialogue, puzzles, and gameplay. Then you realize that VX graphics aren't for you! And you want to transfer your game to XP.... But you really liked the characters you had... so what do you do?

That's where I come in :thumb:

There aren't many sprites finished yet, but I am getting more free time as of late, so there should be plenty of updates soon.

Please do not take credit for these sprites, spriting isn't the easiest thing to do, and I believe I do deserve credit for what I have done.  Anyone is allowed to use these sprites for their projects. If your using them for commercial games, please inform me before doing so.

Remember, all I really want is credit for my work. :thumb:

This is actually one of the better RTP sprites I've seen, good job! :thumb:
One thing I am gonna say though is ditch the black parts of the outline. You should NEVER EVER EVER use pure blacks in sprites, it stands out too much and looks really unrealistic, so you'd be better off going with a darker version of your other colors.

And the zoom works fine for me, all I see is good clean PNG goodness ^_^

Um with the black... I definitely know that rule. BUT! Have a look at the colours, I adjusted everything to look like the vx sprites, not just the spriting, but the actual palette, the skin, the hair, and the 4 color palette, with Black as the darkest color.

As a suggestion, maybe you could use the XP rtp pallets to convert the characters with. This would insure maximum compatibility with the XP characters and tilesets.

Lol, as a flipside, would be interesting to see VX versions of the XP rtp.

These are some serious good work. A small piece of advice, post the original VX versions for those like me who dont have VX so we can compare . Just an idea, not a requirement though

they are starting to shape up really nicely, one point I'd make is the arms seem to be sticking out oddly, I remember a while back somebody made a template with the arms relaxed at the side of the body and it looked very good. I just personally find this to look a lot better, you may want to give it a try.

It looks nice so far, and it'd be great to have new sets of characters out there. The second one's proportions are rather odd though - little arms, torso that almost looks like a t-shirt more then an armor but yet huge leg-armors.

Acutally, this one allows for more details on the arms instead of crushing them to the sides. IMO, stick with this one, slightly less natural but considdering the RTP template isnt as natural as they come, slighly outstretched arms are okay.

Again, ask one of the greats as my opinion counts for little :p

Suddenly obtains urgh to make a fight scene betwen Arshes and ummmm whatever the VX's name is.

They look very, very good. I too think the pure black needs to be altered, it doesn't look horrid or nothing in game it just sort of makes the Character more distinct. That is perfectly fine if it's a main character or a major rival but if anyone were to use it as an NPC it would steal the lime light.
THen again people could be unlazy and alter it themselves but meh. :smile:

I'm very distracted now. I have the urge to stop working on my game, and start making a game with Alexus and Ralph as rivals!

The black line thing hasn't disturbed me, since I'm a VX user now. I actually haven't tried him in XP, I planned on making these character's for VX.
