Hm... You sure? Although it might be illegal to translate and distribute the program itself, I was under the impression that the music was free to use.
Besides, if this is illegal, what of the people who use music ripped from commercial games?

Of course, I'm not very well-versed in law and the like. I could easily see the music being bundled with the program -- that is, requiring a legal purchase of the game for the music rights. It'd probably help my understanding if you broke it up into small layman-sized legal bites. XD

WHAT???  I´m not allowed to use RmVX music in RmXP.. but i´m allowed to use every other Rpg-Maker Music in XP and VX???

I think we can allow this for the time being, especially since a lot of people are just experimenting with the new resources. When RMVX is officially released, we're going to establish some more clear-cut rules.

We've never enforced Enterbrain's EULA before (outside the paying-for-the-program thing), nor any other copyright laws (rips are not copyright-legal, you know). It's not our job to police copyright law. I have a stickied thread so you can learn about it in RMXP Discussion but it's up to the End User to police themselves in that aspect, I say.

And yeah legally, you can't crossbreed the program's resources.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that as long as you're not distributing your game commercially, copyright isn't really an issue unless an artist explicitly states that they do not want their resources used under various circumstances.  This applies to RTP graphics too, I would think.

If you can't access it, I've also uploaded the BGMs, BSs, MEs, and SEs (as well as all the other RPG Maker VX RTP resources). Here is the BGM category:
