This has probably been done, but I've been looking around here and other sites and haven't found anything yet.
Basically, this script would target the player or an event and then replace their sprite with another sprite that animates. So if I wanted a character to do a backflip, this script would target that event, and then remove the original sprite base, play an animation using frames from a separate file, then go back to the original sprite base (or loop it if I set a condition.) Being able to choose which frames per animation (from say, a 6 x infinite image file) would be a plus.
