Vista Anyone?

Hello everyone, I am planning to purchas and upgrade my computer to Windows Vista soon.

I was just wondering if anyone else (preferably who has vista) could give any advice on wether or not that would be a good investment.

Also, One question... would RMXP work on windows Vista?

Mac OSX is the original. This is a generic brand ripoff. All the features Vista stole from OSX are better implemented and userfreindly on OSX.

yeah, but macs... well... they might work better, might look better, might BE better, but all the new programs and games (especially games) and stuff... I have not seen for macs.
True, Photoshop is on there, some of MS Office is on there, several games are also, but for the most part... nope.

Sorry I did not search, I was creating this topic to see what others think and advise, and as I was writing it the idea or asking if RMXP works came to me.

Well, from what I've seen, older apps should also work. I'm getting Vista Home Premium from Sony for free in a while, and I'll get back to you on that.

If you are looking into Halo 2, that will be on Vista. And there is no doubt that Halo War will be on Vista, so, putting aside the built in DRM, yes it's a good investment. The features that you actually can use, however are dependant on your computer specs.

Vista has a Program Compatibility Feature, much like XP that allows you to emulate WinXP for your games and applications, so RMXP should work.

Halo 2 is coming out for vista!

Aww, I am so there!
I have been waiting for it to come out for along time, I was also wondering if it would ever come out...

Will it only be for vista?
I mean... it wont work on XP...

Good Idea I suppose, good selling point.

I have it..its pretty cool, some old programs don't work, on it, but eh oh well. SE is also making a new MMO for 360 and Vista.

Halo 2 is a Vista and Xbox exlcusive. I suspect that Halo 3 (most like for computers with Radeon Crossfire or Nivida SLI) will also be brought to it.

What are the minimun requeriments for Windows Vista, I mean I havea 3.4GHz Pentium 4 with 1 gb of ram. Would you advice me to Get it?

@Draken:

Anywhere between $120-$300, in Canadian dollars. I think you could find a money translator on google to find out the price in your area.

Actually, that's pretty much the same for USD. However, before March, if you get a new computer from Sony with Vista Compatible sticker, they'll send it to you free from their site.

At Penn Station they have this weird series of Vista ads along the walls of this huge round room. Their marketing scheme seems like some dorky 40-year old came up with it. It's like "There are so many "wows!" in Vista!" Then a bunch of pictures of Vista features with captions that almost all have the word "wow" in them (with quotes). So cheesy.

I've been hearing nightmare stories about people who upgrade their pcs and find that VISTA is completely incompatable with the hardware so they have to download new VISTA drivers and some companies (a lot acutally) don't even have vista drivers yet...like SBC Yahoo DSL...lol.

You, you spend like $600 on Vista Ultimate? I've got Vista Business, because of my brother who is a student and he can download it for free
and he doesn't like Vista. As for me, I don't know if I like Vista, it has many errors and still needs a lot of updates.
Many programs won't run with Vista, but you can use a compability option to make it compatible with Windows XP for it to work.
That's the same way RMXP works on my computer.
