highly repetetive but sounds smooth for background music! reminds me of samurai champloo or something.

Its ok, I wish it would be a little more variated but then again, it was 15 minutes worth of messing around. In the middle I was like ."wait...yes a change!" then my smile fell back when the back melody started again D:

@vember - cool. I use fruity loops 5 and Cakewalk Sonar 5... whippin' up a verse and a hook.
it's gonna take more than 15 minutes ^,^

though this track is "repetitive" what it repeats has a good vibe, simple can be hypnotic, catchy,effective.

k Vember here's a few hours of messing... ^,^

expect nothing more than rough draft lyrics using my laptop mic to record.
normally after this point I would work on a final draft,
then a master with the right equipment of course.

the loop gave me that impression and it was you who made it work well ^,^
the repetitiveness serves it's purpose and is not as noticeable with lyrics.

right.. well that's how most hip hop works

you take a good almost always repetitive beat.. tweak it here and there throughout the song.. add some lyrics and bam! hip hop!

I have some other beats that I actually deliberately made for freestyling.. maybe you'd be interested :P

after reading this thread over a little more i actually like it. im glad to see this type of music making a stance on here, since most is either really ambient or rpg tunes.

the percussion doesnt sound very full though. you might want to use another kit sample. id like to see some vocals mixed it, it sounds like it would be an awesome tune if you did. it kinda sounds like hip-hop kirby music. i like how it ends too, very mellow.

good stuff man, please post more!

yeah man, its good. i havent seen much of the hip hop theme executed well on this site, but im glad to see it reviving.
