Hello all! I tried searching the forums for the answer to my question, but i cant seem to find it..
Let me explain my problem! Basicly in the short term, if my map is 50x120 or so. I want to screencap the scene, bring it into photoshop, mess with alpha layers, detail layers and such to refine the scene more to make it more organic or more interesting then just the painted tile look.
I know for tilemaps for a scene, rpgxp limits the max width of a tile set. If i have large outdoor scenes or a big dungeon, it would be greater then make allowed width for a tilemap.. I belive its like 220 pixels in length or so, and about 22,000 pixels max in height.. Is there anyway I can extend the max width of tilemaps that rpgmaker by default allows me..
This sets the stage for my next question..Since most of my core art and such is placeholder in my game for size/scope/quests. I want to model all my assets in 3d and my scenes. So what i would do is model a village in 3d, then take 3 or 4 different perspectives of the village and devide it into 4 different quadrents. This is the way the game studio i worked for did their DS games. So i want to do the same thing in RPGMAKER model a 3d scene, takes screens of various perspectives, then insted of using tiles to paint it on, i just want to use that entire 3d village background picture as the background on my scene, then just paint collision detection on it, with a open slot in my tileediter.
My main goal for the shortterm is draw a 3 layer scene in rpgmaker using tiles, take a screenshot, bring it into photoshop make a ton of edits, then use this single layer picture as my entire map for my areas.
So my main questions
Is it impossible to go beyond the default width restriction that rpgmaker allows us?
Is it possible to use a say 500x220 picture and use that as my tilemap background?
Thanks all! I know there is as imple answer for most of my questions!
