This should be a relatively simple request (I hope), so here goes.
What I would like is for a script that checks for user input (ie, pressing up, X, enter, etc) regularly, and if X amount of time (minutes preferred) goes by WITHOUT any input, I want the menu to open and to display a message OVER the menu saying "You have been idle for X amount of time.", where X can increase for every minute that goes by. Should be able to be turned off via a switch, for cut scenes and the like. Also, it should automatically turn off while in battle. This script should also be able to check for an over-press of the same key (ie, maybe 5000 key inputs in a row?), that would also bring up the menu and the message, only this time saying "You've pressed <key> too many times in a row." If it's not possible to show the message window with the menu up, then an alternative I can think of would be to 'pause' the game and display the message, both by time passing and button presses. Or, I think I've seen this in VX before, is to have a system message come up over the entire game window, ultimately pausing the game with the respective messages.
Basically, I want this system because I have a common event that works with passing game time, and I don't want for the player to be able to just sit there and let time continuously go by for days and bask in the glory of their spoils.
Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks in advance.
