Over a thousand years ago, a terrible battle tore across the world, entire countries were destroyed over night, mountains were pulled into the sea and even the sky was said to be torn open. An unimaginably large army of demons and other evil creatures were said to have crawled up from the ground and began to cause chaos and death everywhere. This army was lead by four powerful generals, each riding on demonic beasts that possessed great speed and strength, but were nowhere near the level of strength possessed by there riders. These generals were known to the people as the riders of Destruction and when one was seen nearby they knew that the land would forever be scarred there. The generals claimed to be working to resurrect there fallen master, an ancient demon said to have the power to consume the sun itself, but thanks to the help of Artemis and his allies, they were all defeated before they were capable of raising there master. Artemis and his comrades, now known as the Champions of Light each returned to there normal lives, or as close as they could to it, and helped rebuild the world slowly. The world was put into a state of peace, until Artemis had seemed to vanish without a trace and monsters began to resurface although in a weaker form compared to what they used to be.
Now, thousands of years later, the destruction of the world so far in the past is nearly forgotten until a mountain far in the north is destroyed and a man on a bone dragon is found in the ruins bearing the armor of one of the long defeated generals. Shortly after the mountain, the land around the remains become another battlefield as the monsters grow more fierce and begin to attack the villages and kingdoms leaving nothing behind but ruins and bodies.
Three years have passed, People fear the worst, and the possibility that it truly is one of the generals from ages past is seeming more and more likely. Which raises the question on where the other generals are, and if someone will stand up and fill in Artemis' shoes...
Our story begins in a small forest village in the heart of a country barely touched by the war so far, our protagonist is a young man named Alex, a self proclaimed swordsman and an expert slacker. His world is about to change when a Recruitment Officer arrives in his village looking for able bodied men to help in this war as enemies begin to appear on the borders of there peaceful kingdom.

Alex
Age: 18
Weapon of Choice: Sword
Alex is the main character of our story, most easily noticed because of his bright red hair, and the fiery personality to match. He was trained how to use the sword by his older brother at a young age, and always showed great promise, but his slacker personality has always prevented him from getting far in his training. Because of his laziness, he's been known to leave a job half finished, possibly making situations around him worst. He's the son of the village blacksmith, and his mother is the Village's current Elder, putting him into an important position once he's older assuming his brother doesn't take up the mantle and he matures in the future.
Max
Age: 19
Weapon of Choice: Spear
Max is another young man from Alex's village. Although he's lived there his entire life, he doesn't really know many people from the village due to his shy personality and his inability to make conversation with the majority of the people he does meet, mostly young women drawn to his unnatural charm. He's an excellent hunter, being said to move as fast as the wind, while others claim he moves faster. He also has an amazing appetite and is almost always eating when he has the chance, and yet he never seems to gain any weight. He's the only male in his family, living with his mom and two younger twin sisters, he really doesn't know who his father is, all the village knows is he came with his mother to the village sixteen years ago when she was still pregnant with his sisters, because he grew up as the male of the house he has always been protective over his family and sees them as his reason to fight.
Jessica
Age: 18
Weapon of Choice: Staff
Jessica is the daughter of the villages Healer. She's seen as a very cruel person because of her treatment to those younger then her, or people she feels aren't fit to breath her air. Quite the opposite of her mother, and a flaw in her personality that will make her future duties as village healer rather hard on herself. She's never really gotten along with Alex or Max growing up because of Alex's lack of wanting to do anything and Max never talking to her even when she attempted to flirt with him when they were younger.
Jaster
Age:Unknown (Appear's 26-ish)
Weapon of Choice: Bow
Jaster is an elven scout sent with the Recruitment Officer to help find potential soldiers. He himself doesn't have much love for humans because he finds that the majority of them are too cocky for such a frail race, while he himself is a cocky person. Elves are known to live in the mountains and in cities built among trees, because of this they've encountered a variety of insects big and small and have learned to accept them, except Jaster who is deathly afraid of anything that resembles a bug. Originally being from an elven city far to the north, his home was destroyed when the first mountain fell and so he and many other elves have been fighting on the front lines to prevent it from happening to anyone else.
Regis
Age: 27
Weapon of Choice: Great Sword
Regis was once a soldier tasked to defend a small outpost. But once news arrived to him that his village was about to be over run by monsters he abandoned his post to try and save his family. He came across the ruins of his village and remains of his wife, but his daughter was nowhere to be found. He was then arrested and put into a prison tower for being a deserter and has spent the last three years alone there. These three years haven't been kind to Regis, he's now a shell of his former self, once a kindhearted and respected man, he's now believed to be a crazed lunatic who decimated his squad instead of trying to rescue his family.
Dirk
Age: 31
Weapon of Choice: Axe
Dirk comes from a tribe that is well known for there ability to slay dragons with great ease. This tribe tends to travel around and help small villages that are in need, Dirk on the other hand left his tribe at a young age to make a profit from his talents at slaying dragons. Since then he has helped build a Mercenary Group up from the ground and is now well known, since the war has began though he has had to fight some odd variations of dragons and watch a lot of good people fall prey to them. Dirk himself is a quiet individual who like to keep to himself, and instead of engaging in needless conversations he would rather draw a picture instead, even if he's not the best of artists.
Alissa
Age: 17
Weapon of Choice: Daggers
Alissa is a member of a band of thieves that live and work in the capital city, or what used to be known as a band of thieves. Since the war has started, the band has begun to change into a group of cut throats and grave robbers, mostly feeding off the remains of villages, a route that Alissa isn't proud of. She encounters Alex many times on his journey and fights with him over there different life choices at every turn, even if she agrees with him.
Sera
Age: 23
Weapon of Choice: Hammer
Sera is the middle daughter of Sir Edward, the leader of the Silver Knights, a branch in the kings army built specifically to help cure sickness and destroy evil creatures that plague the land. Sera has always trained to the best of her ability so that she could truly make a difference in the world and help those that need help, backed by her very strong sense of justice. Her father is recently murdered and she joins Alex on his journey in hopes that they may come across the man responsible for his death so she can take vengeance.

Allen
Age: 28
Weapon of Choice: Sword
Alex's older brother and a soldier currently involved in this war. He's been noted as a powerful ally as no matter what happens he comes out victorious and has even begun to show the ability to use Magic, an ability thought to humans back when Artemis was around. Unlike Alex he's very determined and reaching further then his normal abilities allow him, because of this he leaves a big shadow for Alex to follow.
War
Age: Unknown
Weapon of Choice: Dual Swords
The general responsible for destroying the mountain and everything around it. He rides on the back of a large twin headed bone drake, and is dressed in crimson, spiked armor with a large helmet that conceals his face. In battle he uses Fire and Earth magic and uses two large swords that he uses with great skill and speed. He appears to be a large human, and has a particularly violent attitude towards everything even killing his own minions out of boredom.
Pestilence
Age: Unknown (Appear's 6)
Weapon of Choice: Bow
A young girl who is dressed in a white cloak and wears a gray mask. Her hair is a pale blonde and is neatly cut off at her shoulders, while the mask conceals her face. She has a tiny frame, and wears holds a bow in one hand, but doesn't have a quiver or any arrows. In battle she has been seen to use Ice and Water magic, but hasn't been since with her creature yet. She hasn't been seen in upfront combat yet, but is always seen around the time a plague is about to break out, and has even been called Pestilence by War.

For starters I'm not even sure what Maker to use while I make this, I could go with RMVX but I'm personally not very fond of the Small Spirtes and limited Tile Sets, so that would leave me with RMXP, but I suck at making any form of graphics and I'm more of a Mapper/Story and Character Designer. So, I'll have to find a team for either of them, but I ask for you opinion on which Maker I should use.
When it comes to Battles, I see myself sticking with a Four Party Battle System, I already have the majority of the work floating in my head and I keep seeing myself using Four Party Members, with Four Reserve Members. I'd also like to have some form of a Side-View Battle System that uses things like a Limit Break-type deal, and the ability to swap party members mid battle possibly to allow more strategy in battle having the people who finish the battle getting all the experience, and then the Reserve Members only getting about half.
I plan on having a massive world, one that even changes as the game goes on because you'll watch kingdoms fall to the Dark Army and things like that. With this Massive World I plan on having a mostly linear story, but at the same time having some Side Quests throughout the entire game, some being as simple as bring this Man 15 crystal shards so he can make you an awesome ring, and others scaling the entire game to potentially lead to a characters ultimate weapon. I also want villagers and the sort who are aware of the things around them, like if you're in a small forest village and the borders of the kingdom were recently pushed back because of the attacks, then you'll hear the people talk about how they want to leave there homes because they feel like they're too close to the borders, and scared and the sort. Y'know?
Character Progression I've been debating on using a Classic Leveling Up System, or taking on more of a FFX Style Sphere Grid approach since I know they're both possible, the problem with the Sphere Grid is it would be hard to balance the game around possibilities so using the Classic Leveling Up System while using a Talent Tree for small boosts and to unlock attacks could possibly work, I'm not sure yet. I even considered a Materia-type system, but I can't see how it would fit into the game at all, I'll update this with the reason why at a later date once I finish hammering ideas out.

So, any questions you have about what I've listed here, or if you'd like me to elaborate on something a bit more, just let me know. I currently don't have a title for the game, so if you have any ideas let me know. Thanks.
